Cherish

Happy Sunday folks! Hope you're all having a great weekend! I got a chance to spend a little bit of time in my craft room today so I have a layout to share with you. I used this weeks' sketch from Sketches in Thyme.  Here is my layout:

And here is the sketch:
When I am doing a sketch challenge I usually try to stay pretty true to the original sketch. In this case I did change it up a bit. I liked the circle in the sketch, and I especially liked how it went off the page, but I wanted to do something a little different than a circle.  I had taken these awesome photos of my fur-kids with Instagram (how much do we LOVE Instagram??) I thought the filter gave them such a pretty soft, almost pastel look. I knew I wanted to stay in that palate, and I found these gorgeous papers from Echo Park. One of the prints was a bunch of different doilies, so I decided to fussy cut a couple of the doilies (SO not the best at fussy cutting!!) and use them as a replacement for the circle. I then distressed them a little with a nail file (to cover up the poor fussy cutting, lol!) and some ink.

I added a flourish from the Sophisticated cart. (side note: I am featuring a showcase of that cart over at Cooking with Cricut on Monday the 26th if you would like to see what else you can do with this cart). My title is also a phrase from this cart.

There were obviously a lot of honeycomb shapes in this line. I wanted to enhance some of the ones that were printed on the page by (fussy cutting again!) some out of one of the papers. This time it was straight lines so I did a better job, lol! I added some buttons and flowers with Liquid Pearls centers.

I had some peach colored pearl string that I won in a RAK a while back and I literally sat for 10 minutes deciding if I should add it or not. I wasn't sure if it would be too much, and I'm still not sure if that would have added anything to it, but ultimately I decided 'when in doubt, leave it out'. So there's my project, warts and all, haha! Hope you enjoyed it, and thanks for stopping by!!
