Practical Scrappers DT Post: White Cardstock Background

Today at Practical Scrappers we are showcasing layouts with a white cardstock background. This is a really fun challenge as there are SO many ways you can go with this, so many ways to alter and embellish a white cardstock base. My layout was inspired by a super cute design I saw by Jennifer Perks in the June Scrapbooks, etc. magazine (pg 29). Here is my layout:
There were a few different ways I was thinking of going with the butterflies, but ultimately I decided to cut one out with the white cardstock, and another one in a colored cardstock, and then layer them over each other. Here are some close ups of the butterflies:
I curled the sides up a bit with a petal roller (a pencil or pen would work just fine) to make them 'pop' a bit more.
I then added some liquid pearls to accentuate the bodies.
I used an MS Border punch and a strip of patterned paper to add an accent border.
I kept the title small and simple and added some journaling around one of the patterned paper layers to keep it a little out of the way as to not distract from the rest of the layout.
Thanks for stopping by today, and make sure to stop by the Practical Scrappers blog to see what the rest of the SUPER talented design team has made for you! Also, if you would like to join in the fun check out our 'Challenge Me Tuesday' post- your layout could be featured on the blog!!
