Blossom

Hello friends! This layout was originally meant for another project, but it fell through. I decided to go ahead and post it anyway! I LOVE cherry blossoms (or any pink flowering tree, lol!) There's a beautiful one at my parents' house, so I had to snap some pics!

I took these photos of my niece last Easter. I love this tree in the spring, all the pink blossoms are SO pretty. I loved how her dress matched the tree! :) I pulled out my Storybook cart and used it for the whole layout- this cart has a pretty font, flowers, borders and fancy corners.
I cut some strips from a striped patterned paper, and then layered one of the corner cuts over the top. I added some liquid pearls for a little more color.
I used liquid pearls on the centers of the flowers as well, and added some fun matching brads.

I used the 'Happy Hello' stamps from the Whimsical Designs Everyday Sentiments set as a sub title. I thought it was cute, like saying hello to Spring :) You can find the set HERE.
The butterfly stickers were kraft colored- I inked them with some pink ink to match the page better.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Cooking with Cricut # 77: St. Patricks Day

I am simply thrilled to be continuing on with Cooking with Cricut!  This group is an amazing bunch of talented crafters, and we are welcoming in some talented new members. I hope you take the time to check out all of their fantastic projects. This week we are celebrating St. Patrick's Day with a rainbow theme! I have to admit I was a little at a loss with what to do with my project until I realized all the different ways you could utilize a 'rainbow' on your card. In this particular card I was inspired by one I found on Pinterest here. Here it is:
I used some patterned paper for some of the butterflies, and added some embossing and ribbon. I REALLY love clean and simple (CAS) cards. I think less is more sometimes! For the butterflies I cut them from the Storybook cart and used the 'flip' feature on my Cricut to get the butterflies to 'fly' in opposite directions. I popped them up on foam dots so they could stand out a bit more. The sentiment stamp is from Whimsical Designs.
I hope you enjoy my card and can't wait to see the colorful creations you all come up with! Please come join us!

Cooking with Cricut Adopt a Pet Blog Hop

Hi and welcome to The Hunny Pot and the Cooking with Cricut Adopt a Shelter Pet Blog Hop! October is National Adopt a Shelter Dog month so we wanted to honor our furry friends. If you arrived here from visiting Linda you're in the right place! If you've just happened across my blog and would like to hop along with us, you can go to CookingWithCricut.com and start at the beginning. I am so excited, this is my FIRST ever blog hop! So be gentle, I'm a newbie, LOL! Also, to welcome you, I am offering some blog candy! If you would like to win these fun Halloween goodies all you have to do is become a follower of my blog, and leave a comment on this post!

I am very honored that my first hop is in recognition of adopting homeless pets. It is a cause very near and dear to my heart. So, to that end, my featured project also 'features' my adopted boxer June Carter, aka Junebug. June joined our family at this time last year and has brought so much joy to our lives. This project highlights a few of her 'quirks'. Shortly after joining our family, I was folding up a quilt and she came running from out of nowhere to dive under it. That was when I realized she liked to burrow. In the picture she's even burrowed under a pillow!

This entire project was completed with my Imagine. I printed the cardstock, frame shapes, mats and patterned paper from the Heirloom cartridge. Even the title was printed with a color from the Heirloom palette and then cut with the 'original' cricut cart All Mixed Up. For the flourish I printed an Heirloom pattern on a cut from Storybook. That's what I love about the Imagine, you can print and cut from any Imagine or original cricut cart, and your whole page is perfectly coordinated! I added some Basic Grey brads and prima flowers for embellishment and done!

And just so he didn't feel left out :) Here are some favorite projects that I have previously posted featuring June's 'brother' Cash. Click on the links for more info about these projects!
