Cooking with Cricut challenge #57: Scarecrows, Hay, Crows and Sketches
It's time for another Cooking with Cricut challenge! This was a fun one! As you all know I LOVE Fall and I just acquired the Simply Scarecrow cart (this one is a must-have! So many cute cuts...) and I'm happy anytime I get to use it! This week we were provided another cute sketch to utilize. I switched this one up just a bit- I had a 4x6 vertical photo I wanted to use so I flipped the mat up and down. And I added a big pumpkin (also cut with the Simply Scarecrow cart) for the background. All the paper on the project is from the Bo Bunny Forever Fall line. I think I have made 3 projects from this line so far- such great Fall colors and images. After cutting the images out, I inked the corn stalk with some Tim Holtz distress ink, placed buttons for eyes on my scarecrow guy and added some raffia to give that feel of real hay. I've attached a closeup of my scarecrow so you can see. I cut the title using Alphalicious. One last thing- I was having a real hard time coming up with a title for this page. I wanted something cute that matched the picture of my hubby and our boxer, Cash. Well, I hopped on over to Scrapbook Eden and found the perfect title! There are a lot of great resources and tutorials on this site- you should definitely check it out!
Here is the sketch we were provided to use for this week's project:
Thanks for visiting! Can't wait to see the fun Fall goodies you all will cook up!

Cooking with Cricut Adopt a Pet Blog Hop
Hi and welcome to The Hunny Pot and the Cooking with Cricut Adopt a Shelter Pet Blog Hop! October is National Adopt a Shelter Dog month so we wanted to honor our furry friends. If you arrived here from visiting Linda you're in the right place! If you've just happened across my blog and would like to hop along with us, you can go to CookingWithCricut.com and start at the beginning. I am so excited, this is my FIRST ever blog hop! So be gentle, I'm a newbie, LOL! Also, to welcome you, I am offering some blog candy! If you would like to win these fun Halloween goodies all you have to do is become a follower of my blog, and leave a comment on this post!
I am very honored that my first hop is in recognition of adopting homeless pets. It is a cause very near and dear to my heart. So, to that end, my featured project also 'features' my adopted boxer June Carter, aka Junebug. June joined our family at this time last year and has brought so much joy to our lives. This project highlights a few of her 'quirks'. Shortly after joining our family, I was folding up a quilt and she came running from out of nowhere to dive under it. That was when I realized she liked to burrow. In the picture she's even burrowed under a pillow!
This entire project was completed with my Imagine. I printed the cardstock, frame shapes, mats and patterned paper from the Heirloom cartridge. Even the title was printed with a color from the Heirloom palette and then cut with the 'original' cricut cart All Mixed Up. For the flourish I printed an Heirloom pattern on a cut from Storybook. That's what I love about the Imagine, you can print and cut from any Imagine or original cricut cart, and your whole page is perfectly coordinated! I added some Basic Grey brads and prima flowers for embellishment and done!
And just so he didn't feel left out :) Here are some favorite projects that I have previously posted featuring June's 'brother' Cash. Click on the links for more info about these projects!
Please do follow my blog if you like what you see!
Now it's your turn! Link up your purr-fectly wonderful pet-themed project at CookingWithCricut.com. Here are a few guidelines:
* Must follow the challenge topic.
* Must be a NEW project for this challenge. No back dated posts please.

* Must link your project post through Inlinkz and not just your blog.

The Design Team will pick their three favorites and one lucky person will be chosen randomly to win one of the prize packages being offered in this hop. There is also a prize package for just leaving us some love (a comment) on the CWC blog. One catch, those leaving comments MUST be a CWC follower. Cooking with Cricut Challenge: Purple, Green and Sketches
I am so excited to present my FIRST Cooking with Cricut Design Team project!! The challenge this week is to incorporate the colors purple and green with the provided sketch. Halloween is my FAVORITE holiday, so if you give me purple and green in the middle of October, I'm going to have to do a Halloween page! For this page I used a solid frame background from Storybook for the scalloped background, and Paper Dolls Dress up for all the cute little critters. I cut the ghost, moon and stars out of glitter paper to give them a little more sparkle (and less mess!), then popped them all up on glue dots for a little more dimension. All of the paper and the chipboard pumpkin border are from American Crafts. The 'Trick or Treat' title is a stamp from Inkadinkado. Here is the fabulous sketch I used:
I used a white pen from American Crafts to draw on the detail on the cats.
I cut these pieces out of glitter paper to add a little sparkle!
So there's my project, I hope you enjoyed it, and I hope you will join in the fun this week! Can't wait to see all the fun things you create with this weeks' challenge!
And my finished project! (Along with some close-ups of the critters) :)
These are my 3 nephews: Brayden (a nerd), Braxton (Spiderman) and Nevin (the baby from "Addams Family), How cute are they!I used a white pen from American Crafts to draw on the detail on the cats.
I cut these pieces out of glitter paper to add a little sparkle!
So there's my project, I hope you enjoyed it, and I hope you will join in the fun this week! Can't wait to see all the fun things you create with this weeks' challenge!

Spooky!
My Craft Spot is having a color challenge this week- black with green, orange or purple. It was surpsingly hard to stick to just the two colors! I have actually used up all my Halloween pics from previous years (it IS my favorite holiday, so I tend to get right to those LO's! LOL), so I decided to make a LO with a photo mat to be ready for all the MANY photos I will be taking this year. All the patterned paper, and the brads are We R Memory Keepers and I used the Happy Hauntings cart. Hope you enjoy!!

Sk8r Boy
Really fun challenge over at Frosted Designs this week. It was a recipe challenge- I've never done one like this before! Really fun! Basically they give you 8 things and you pick four and incorporate them in your project. I picked the color yellow (background paper), ink or misting (smooch spray used on background paper. I like the effect for the theme of my LO), ribbon or lace (that awesome 'masculine' net ribbon from Theresa Collins- so perfect for boys or sports pages!) and buttons! I cut the title with Printing Press, and the stars from George and Basic Shapes. TFL!!
Photos of my awesome nephew Bailey provided with permission from my sis Holli Fernandez. Thanks for the great pics!

Exciting News!
As I mentioned in an earlier post I have some exciting news to share- I have been selected to be on the design team for Cooking with Cricut! I am absolutely thrilled, and looking forward to many fun projects and blog hops to come! Please also check out Paper Crafting World- lots of fun cut files and digital stamps. They even have page kits and tutorials, lots of good stuff! Can't wait to start sharing with you guys!!
Timpanogos Cave
A really cute challenge at the Paper Variety this week- include a forest critter on your project. What a fun Fall project idea! I love challenges like this because I probably wouldn't have thought to include a cute forest animal on this LO of me and my nephew up at Timpanogos Cave, but I really like the way it turned out. Also, I had been wanting to make these cute forest animals from the Cindy Loo cartridge for some time and this is the perfect opportunity. The paper is from We R Memory Keepers (couldn't resist paper with owls on it!!), stamp from Stampology and ribbon from American Crafts, and stickers from Bo Bunny. The title was cut with Doodletype. TFL!

A Cut Above
I love October! So many fun Halloween projects to make! I have somehow obtained an obscene amount of fun Halloween patterned paper, so I need to use it up, so keep 'em comin'! This week's challenge over at Fantabulous Cricut is to incorporate a pumpkin in your LO. I decided to scrap these photos of Hubby carving our pumpkins last year. I had this darling kit from My Mind's Eye that had some fun pumpkin embellies. I cut the title out of Printing Press. I love the mixed fonts on this cart! I also used some glossy accents and enamel accents to make some of the die cuts stand out. P.S. stay tuned for a big development coming soon... :)
Too Cute to Spook
It's been awhile since I posted- I have been SO busy lately! A party for my mom's 60th birthday, a party for my nephew's 1st birthday, invitations, cards, decorations, make n'takes, huge changes at work and a move! Phew! I hate moving, but at least in this new place I get a craft room! I'm so excited, I have definitely outgrown the half of a room that I am currently occupying! Anyway, on to some business... the challenge of the week over at My Craft Spot is "Too Cute to Spook". I thought it was the perfect theme for this cute photo of my niece Emma in her ladybug costume for Halloween a few years back. As a matter of fact, I 'stole' the theme for my title, and even ended up using paper from a line by Bella Blvd. called...Too Cute to Spook! LOL! I cut the trick or treaters/monsters out of a patterned paper to make the borders, and added some glossy accents to the orange circles to make them pop. The title was cut from Makin' the Grade and the stamp is from Basic Grey. Hope you enjoy!
