Just a quick post today to share a card I made for my husband using the Gilded Paper stack from DCWV. I mentioned this stack in a post a while back and said I would share this card. Sorry the photos aren't the best, but I just took a couple quick shots before handing it over. I absolutely love this stack. It features kraft colors and wood grain designs with gold foil details. And then on top of that it has really on trend images. It was hard to decide on one design because there were so many different options. There are a lot of journaling/phrase cards that are perfect for card sentiments. So not only will your projects be super cute, but they will come together very quickly!<br />
Here is the card:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Here is the layout it inspired:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiPqCEDrQKYwetpsjCHg5uyH4m9FPfOKc0fiZfuvLd4wO_l_gxhGrAo3E1g9ymxDVy1ue0gZfskTT0ZquWKNqUpn3TN2Dz26CW-SxR7SYh68BbABXYroUOp2WELiXy_K0gnYq8Xu_kd-key/s1600/photo+1.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiPqCEDrQKYwetpsjCHg5uyH4m9FPfOKc0fiZfuvLd4wO_l_gxhGrAo3E1g9ymxDVy1ue0gZfskTT0ZquWKNqUpn3TN2Dz26CW-SxR7SYh68BbABXYroUOp2WELiXy_K0gnYq8Xu_kd-key/s1600/photo+1.JPG" height="398" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="text-align: start;">The Little Mister stack from DCWV had several pages and cards that featured the phrase- and they matched the colors in my photo (one of my favorites from the hospital).</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This stack featured a 3x4 card with banners that read "twinkle twinkle little star" as well as a patterned page of words and phrases that also included it several times. I used all of them just to drive the point home. LOL ;)</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Still head over heels for these sequin bows from Freckled Fawn. I thought it looked cute against a background paper that features bow ties! Also love these pearl accents from Doodlebug!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Also can't get enough of the fun title designing on my new Cricut. I love the look of using the negative image and backing it with fun patterned paper.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Hope you enjoyed the project, here is the stack if you would like some for yourself:</div>

So needless to say, his first bath photos are of him screaming, lol. But, hey- that's what happened, so that's what I scrapbook! For the record, at 3 months he likes his baths a lot more now!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Once again using DCWV product! This is from the Little Mister stack. The color scheme worked really well with my photos. There are some adorable phrase/journaling cards in this stack. I like the "new little man" one for this page because it has a sorta double meaning- new as in clean, and new as in (literally) brand new!!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Cut and designed the title in Cricut Design Space. I doodled around the main title for a little whimsy.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Isn't this cut the cutest?! It's from Baby Steps. I added some adhesive pearl "bubbles". These are some of the new bling being made by DCWV and they are really awesome.</div>

Today I have a layout I made of the photo I used to introduce Henry to the world... his first Facebook photo! Hey, like it or hate it, it's a great way to keep up with family and allow them to see photos like this that they might not otherwise have had access to. I know my family members really appreciate seeing the updates of our lives. I titled it "World Premiere" ;)<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgpyPQT8N1D2iRJHz6CTsBsl_jKyH0abkKEU_VoLQotLcPdtDFfCzj3sVq94jy7rmnMQJrZHPgnLkgExmuN8dC6kXbdCJ6h-GopugGMbHVqvIisCt6ehJTeIxGQEla-5lACuSSEFW__pnPU/s1600/photo+1.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgpyPQT8N1D2iRJHz6CTsBsl_jKyH0abkKEU_VoLQotLcPdtDFfCzj3sVq94jy7rmnMQJrZHPgnLkgExmuN8dC6kXbdCJ6h-GopugGMbHVqvIisCt6ehJTeIxGQEla-5lACuSSEFW__pnPU/s1600/photo+1.JPG" height="396" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I used the Echo Park Bundle of Joy (boy) pack for this layout. This is the second layout I have done from this kit, and I could probably get at least a couple more as well as some cards. I just love using kits because you have so many pages that are pre-coordinated for you and then they throw in cute stickers, alphas and journaling cards to boot. It makes it so easy to just slam out a bunch of cute layouts in a short amount of time. This layout probably took me under 30 minutes.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjz9VtqGvUizoHY8pVk-e5Nx3vqtxvM6KM0cjdfuzKMxTCWKIAleHVV-FBTSXDGNzVOYPyT3luXdLxI5lVZIGpLGfHapkt50ktFd3_IFAHLs8dHJlR-xQ2Y_htEZkh8FW1xNn0ul3gKI7CK/s1600/photo+2.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjz9VtqGvUizoHY8pVk-e5Nx3vqtxvM6KM0cjdfuzKMxTCWKIAleHVV-FBTSXDGNzVOYPyT3luXdLxI5lVZIGpLGfHapkt50ktFd3_IFAHLs8dHJlR-xQ2Y_htEZkh8FW1xNn0ul3gKI7CK/s1600/photo+2.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I worry sometimes about doing tone on tone with the title because I'm afraid it won't stand out, but I really like the look of it. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh3bvSsjfPRQU6wMtXFWIZVvrHxT1g-3S0QFNBklX4fAy29hAsLvPGn3D8CBoFN-Nnhclr9oxQ28xBnGFS1MQrHsw0TloO-RSI721V7_iuyNfXQNYwPivnW7PofWJha-jalFHErYCdZxUV4/s1600/photo+3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh3bvSsjfPRQU6wMtXFWIZVvrHxT1g-3S0QFNBklX4fAy29hAsLvPGn3D8CBoFN-Nnhclr9oxQ28xBnGFS1MQrHsw0TloO-RSI721V7_iuyNfXQNYwPivnW7PofWJha-jalFHErYCdZxUV4/s1600/photo+3.jpg" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I threw in a couple cute journaling cards and some fun stickers and voila! All done! </div>

Got another layout with some fun DCWV product to share with you. This is one of the few usable newborn photos I was able to get of Henry. Little stinker just didn't want to cooperate! I talked about this in a previous post so I won't get into it too much here. Anyway, I used the Baby Boy stack. There are two of these stacks, so they must have updated it and I think this is the older one to be honest, but you might still be able to find it. Here is the layout:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgwAbj97LPO9edJ4zCTPfd4IwrCydwwaGXVYrKhgktUhRQS6ZugXx_Fl_vQN4vRX8HYYMkwGZ81R32Smeyzl5BDOSDWhwvY85Z-vXjv_hx9Tva4pyjNZhbZcBa5V6YZ4ehf03MYxWdShcCq/s1600/photo+1.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgwAbj97LPO9edJ4zCTPfd4IwrCydwwaGXVYrKhgktUhRQS6ZugXx_Fl_vQN4vRX8HYYMkwGZ81R32Smeyzl5BDOSDWhwvY85Z-vXjv_hx9Tva4pyjNZhbZcBa5V6YZ4ehf03MYxWdShcCq/s1600/photo+1.JPG" height="393" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I like the color palette of this stack and it worked so well with the colors of my photo.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjp-7DZMiwuNsA5TJu0TjMZ6arbuvNBjG1W8cw2-LmgmVf0PYQwC8EFxzXI_2T3hU7KgzIC9ZBOZapHxN_3HxcQf_Wr6zOaIk8RLn3CSjtgOYFWcAqblWuq57a2L788gxoKQYB1frqwCV40/s1600/photo+2.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjp-7DZMiwuNsA5TJu0TjMZ6arbuvNBjG1W8cw2-LmgmVf0PYQwC8EFxzXI_2T3hU7KgzIC9ZBOZapHxN_3HxcQf_Wr6zOaIk8RLn3CSjtgOYFWcAqblWuq57a2L788gxoKQYB1frqwCV40/s1600/photo+2.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
So I found these cute little baby image squares in my stash. The colors kind of matched so I thought I would try to modernize them a bit to use on this layout. I used some glaze and was going for a square flair kind of look. I'm not sure how well it worked, but hey, at least I tried something new, right? It always makes me feel good when I can use up something from my stash, and it had been awhile since I broke out the glaze- I used to use that stuff ALL the time!!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEib8XF6paZ6net2AIVNzcTVOSfZ6h7bO5aygmoUm6JgzvBynUApqhgm_4YRqDi9wfVzfomCj0tfKiHSY-hjH5R50rXw7LymIWiV9sxws-Ycwt7mSFlNH-oGnUo0LyqgeHhvZ8uD2-oOquoz/s1600/photo+3.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEib8XF6paZ6net2AIVNzcTVOSfZ6h7bO5aygmoUm6JgzvBynUApqhgm_4YRqDi9wfVzfomCj0tfKiHSY-hjH5R50rXw7LymIWiV9sxws-Ycwt7mSFlNH-oGnUo0LyqgeHhvZ8uD2-oOquoz/s1600/photo+3.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The background sheet I chose had this cute little turtle in the lower corner. I knew I would end up covering up at least part of it so I fussy-cut out another one from another sheet and popped it up over the original. He was too cute to cover up!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiNwlMNLj4CZnou3cGGQzVi2v46AZd9CzQFQP0s2lQuHQmcRWyFQfjC56erC5uKoIg5AaHb71tpAGGNZoqzzPji477HPzKU1MuGNsYp6Q7QcUi3z5QAt2AvATKiipZNFRRIS4iJiXcVL5rI/s1600/photo+4.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiNwlMNLj4CZnou3cGGQzVi2v46AZd9CzQFQP0s2lQuHQmcRWyFQfjC56erC5uKoIg5AaHb71tpAGGNZoqzzPji477HPzKU1MuGNsYp6Q7QcUi3z5QAt2AvATKiipZNFRRIS4iJiXcVL5rI/s1600/photo+4.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Cut the title from Baby Steps, and welded it in design space, then I doodled around the edges.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Used one of the cute cut-out journaling cards for my journaling, and used some others as design elements on my page. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Thanks for stopping by today, I hope you enjoyed the project!! Here's the stack I used in case you would like to hunt it out for yourself:</div>

A few months ago my husband thought it would be fun to google our son's name- just to see what came up (as you do, right?! lol). He ended up finding several images of a cute toddler boy with strawberry blonde hair. We thought it was interesting because our son has strawberry blonde hair (despite both of us being dark! We still get a kick out of that!) and it looked like this little boy could be *our* Henry in a few years. The photos came from a blog called Hey Natalie Jean and we thought it was cute that she called her Henry 'Huck" as a nickname, since we are still looking for a good nickname for our Henry. We're not big fans of Hank. Then a couple weeks later we were at our pediatrician's office for a well check, and one of the nurses mentioned the blog to us again- she was a fan of the blog and recognized our Henry's name and thought for a moment it could be the same one! So I decided to check out the blog a bit more and it turns out I have quite a bit in common with this gal. As I was reading a post about the birth of her son she ended it by saying "And what we made was glorious". I thought that was such a beautiful sentiment I just had to steal it for a layout title. I used one of the first photos of Henry after he was born and I really just LOVE this layout.<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The paper is from a new DCWV stack called Honey Chic. I am really loving the new lines they are coming out with, and you will too. They are really listening to their customers (sending lots of surveys to find what people really want from them, and then trying to accomodate) and also having some very on-trend offerings as well. They have some really great new stacks with nautical themes, blue and coral, outdoors, woodsy and vintage. And you will die for the Gilded stack. Kraft with gold. Foil. It is AWESOME. I will have to post a card I made for my husband with this stack. It was great for a man card because it wasn't too feminine. But anyway, back to my current project!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhy3r_UWdBIZeGhQDCBDZvd24d7s1o3l-mmPcwTfaJsC388r9etww8zpXTx94rjhMa5KrqxnQDocpKoums9M_FYLyzWDR9xFafe_TxV1KysbrMOaCgjmvXH0bOLvyBpKJQF2VjG8TkKIknX/s1600/photo+3.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhy3r_UWdBIZeGhQDCBDZvd24d7s1o3l-mmPcwTfaJsC388r9etww8zpXTx94rjhMa5KrqxnQDocpKoums9M_FYLyzWDR9xFafe_TxV1KysbrMOaCgjmvXH0bOLvyBpKJQF2VjG8TkKIknX/s1600/photo+3.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Lots of fun colors, and I really like the bright colors against the black. I popped up the flags so they would really pop off the page.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgfupxXOiCbiDXHSdROsKzK_RZKZR3PUp4Nobrw7DyuE9jPz7Tq2WevYa3GM2FI_Y9_MGhxw792jBBHEX83n6ykXUbJYjg2HWvGDu1fxaLCmUQ-NgHiZNrsmqMe9Pvpwwb8BGuG7uVHd5jW/s1600/photo+2.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgfupxXOiCbiDXHSdROsKzK_RZKZR3PUp4Nobrw7DyuE9jPz7Tq2WevYa3GM2FI_Y9_MGhxw792jBBHEX83n6ykXUbJYjg2HWvGDu1fxaLCmUQ-NgHiZNrsmqMe9Pvpwwb8BGuG7uVHd5jW/s1600/photo+2.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I can't even tell you how I am still so excited to be able to design titles like this with my Cricut Explore! It just makes me giddy! So I took one of the 4x6 journaling cards from the stack. It had a cute glitter-y (it's hard to see in the picture) banner element which I thought mirrored well off of the banner I had on my page. I designed the title, and because of the software I was able to adjust where it would cut on the mat so I could cut the title on the journaling card and then back it with patterned paper. I really love how it turned out. I just added some colorful sequins confetti style to fill in the white space a little bit.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhEcql4mpLY_XvaJcPPV4lHmZCnsghUVVpbzJlIU97jv1WN2ExqVRiCwtV9UipVyQTX23IGPNyt_D7-7YT64oqJsmEvW8NgQrXGtq-zi1bfV4Gy7BovC25_RxfLTK0NicfT8uXImMY3PC_b/s1600/photo+4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhEcql4mpLY_XvaJcPPV4lHmZCnsghUVVpbzJlIU97jv1WN2ExqVRiCwtV9UipVyQTX23IGPNyt_D7-7YT64oqJsmEvW8NgQrXGtq-zi1bfV4Gy7BovC25_RxfLTK0NicfT8uXImMY3PC_b/s1600/photo+4.jpg" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The blue paper in the background has a bunch of sweet phrases in a script font. I highlighted one that said "you make me happy" because I thought it was so fitting for this page. The camera is an SVG cut that I was able to cut with my Cricut (!). I believe I got it from 2 Peas. I still love camera images and use them frequently. The darling 'This" paperclip and flair are from Freckled Fawn. They have the best embellishments. Love them.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhvTPsvVOzcEnGcAD2hL5KgR8cIu15lJYXLd1G_3YlwcwdCOxJAbTfcGrMYyKd2tlnow8i9qjCuoBzHcA6dYeDBQxyxqXvjvzqYNUNvsjg5-ZGrKE_wPkjGm6Gh4sIH0AY6JNu3gcVgWLDM/s1600/photo+5.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhvTPsvVOzcEnGcAD2hL5KgR8cIu15lJYXLd1G_3YlwcwdCOxJAbTfcGrMYyKd2tlnow8i9qjCuoBzHcA6dYeDBQxyxqXvjvzqYNUNvsjg5-ZGrKE_wPkjGm6Gh4sIH0AY6JNu3gcVgWLDM/s1600/photo+5.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Lastly I just added some colorful enamel dots and arrows to add just a little more color and interest in the upper left corner.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

I was honored to be selected as a guest Designer over at <a href="http://xoxoscrapbooking.blogspot.com/" target="_blank">True XoXo Scrapbooking</a> this month. If you haven't checked out this blog, you definitely should. Every month they have a new challenge that involves scraplifting the work of a Design Team member. I think this is a really fun idea because for one, it is different than the usual sketch or theme challenges. For two, there are so many ways you can scraplift someone's work- you can take their project and use it as a sketch, or get inspired from a design element or color scheme. Or even just go off the subject matter of the original layout. There are so many possibilities and it is such a unique way to get inspired. Here is my layout: (Sorry again for the weird shadows and color casts on the photos, I'm going to have to work on that!)<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjDF50bwZJ2Mypt9ZHfmPQLnrTDbxhY59JYXaecw-PPRLrQFZdRvRSKoOQ3qUnnB16wuZDCMZz9zt8xCF6X4ISGvkCOOXCbwoxSsbxv62wfhaG5aDncQtAj07u7SL06JBKwhFvHkaJvzsyi/s1600/photo+1.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjDF50bwZJ2Mypt9ZHfmPQLnrTDbxhY59JYXaecw-PPRLrQFZdRvRSKoOQ3qUnnB16wuZDCMZz9zt8xCF6X4ISGvkCOOXCbwoxSsbxv62wfhaG5aDncQtAj07u7SL06JBKwhFvHkaJvzsyi/s1600/photo+1.JPG" height="397" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
And here is the page from the talented Tess that I scraplifted:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I really love her layout and used many elements for inspiration. For one, the basic design. I used her page as a sketch, and just upsized it a bit. I journaled directly on my background paper as she did. I tried to place some of my elements where she had her coffee ring inking and I also used some enamel elements as embellishments like she did with the enamel dots.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhM-HpOwRL96Hk0pAUX-mLdwPEja6AdhPTwT_I1UBBNUqtgmv4xlYSZkw9jtkUuNNhh80JgPfy4M63gv-1n-lN6tOIaI_ePQS0GXs2pesHxJXpvVMxaqCE5Mn57w5G_J7NyuOEnTvZf19ep/s1600/photo+4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhM-HpOwRL96Hk0pAUX-mLdwPEja6AdhPTwT_I1UBBNUqtgmv4xlYSZkw9jtkUuNNhh80JgPfy4M63gv-1n-lN6tOIaI_ePQS0GXs2pesHxJXpvVMxaqCE5Mn57w5G_J7NyuOEnTvZf19ep/s1600/photo+4.jpg" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I usually have rather large titles on my pages, so I thought it would be fun to downsize it for a change, using the letter stickers that came in the paper pack I was using- Keepin' Cozy by Echo Park. Those itsy bitsy tiny little minuscule pearl elements are from Doodlebug and I just love them. They are so tiny and cute!! The enamel arrows are from them as well.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

I layered some cute washi in the upper left corner with some snowflake stickers from the kit. I also used a snowflake shape as a background element (where Tess used a cute doily) as my page had to do with bundling up from the cold.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjS6JiCcn_1mCEtoKXophIsiHRSkJF_ObutVgPCU8y4UEqaexBaMcHdBlcMMyaAt5sL6bsCGzY2HImplblqauAIrBSClsTkwjIeCBovk7zUQWgcuoVWSx4nXHPx9r3vDrXCgDfm3e2RxgZE/s1600/photo+3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjS6JiCcn_1mCEtoKXophIsiHRSkJF_ObutVgPCU8y4UEqaexBaMcHdBlcMMyaAt5sL6bsCGzY2HImplblqauAIrBSClsTkwjIeCBovk7zUQWgcuoVWSx4nXHPx9r3vDrXCgDfm3e2RxgZE/s1600/photo+3.jpg" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Here I used a snowflake border (where Tess used a pretty flourish) to frame my photo and then added a cute little Nordic deer sticker.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I had a lot of fun with this challenge, and it looks like I will be joining them next month as well! They have a really talented design team and I am always inspired by their work, so I hope you will stop by and give it a try! It's a fun way to get those creative juices flowing, AND you could be picked to be a guest designer for them!!</div>

Especially for my baby boy pages. Echo Park has some great boy lines with these fun brights. I used one of their lines for this cute monster layout. I apologize in advance for the weird shadows in most of these photos. :/<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjlUt-KobTJyQjD9tTsnHb3ebsrOdMzmtoXkwQfiLjsemL5BF4c2izqGOfjk1V9-to5-ua0giAg11_hedCxO1jq3a4Epf7hnhZiLl_7c76uQHxhhM8t0FHc20JF6pIbN6Yz3tVvy2nng0JS/s1600/photo+1.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjlUt-KobTJyQjD9tTsnHb3ebsrOdMzmtoXkwQfiLjsemL5BF4c2izqGOfjk1V9-to5-ua0giAg11_hedCxO1jq3a4Epf7hnhZiLl_7c76uQHxhhM8t0FHc20JF6pIbN6Yz3tVvy2nng0JS/s1600/photo+1.JPG" height="320" width="315" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
We got a few shots of Henry in this adorable monster hat that his cousin made for him, so I thought a monster themed page would be so fun. Plus those little monster die cuts are just too stinkin' cute, especially for boy pages. I got to work out my new Cricut Explore quite a bit with this page, and it was a blast!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEitbdr61lMYKVNsq6wnAOOPwzska7Xt3E0zmg_I1C3cDh8aSIFmuMs_f0CmyzlbVLnEppfisv0_0NxRiTwLGo0ag2-ag1Eairtnl1naagpCYPly5j3DGqsBpJBvaL2mEumbgfuO-Lo0d2VW/s1600/photo+2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEitbdr61lMYKVNsq6wnAOOPwzska7Xt3E0zmg_I1C3cDh8aSIFmuMs_f0CmyzlbVLnEppfisv0_0NxRiTwLGo0ag2-ag1Eairtnl1naagpCYPly5j3DGqsBpJBvaL2mEumbgfuO-Lo0d2VW/s1600/photo+2.jpg" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
For starters I cut out a big gear shape to layer on the back of the page. I thought it was more fitting than just a circle shape. Then I picked out a cute monster and cut all the layers. I popped some of the layers up for dimension.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjvH_qx4rwvRqS-UOQBx43tuNWhj7AHzZ4BqtkkGjtp6nsu3gROBmDWyMhY6gkQaN199d_EzqHfMtIso8G_tImvPpetrf89Q3e7HOcai8dHnrEbuwNG4YPP5GZ88wd70_IsexZiiwPlDSaK/s1600/photo+3.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjvH_qx4rwvRqS-UOQBx43tuNWhj7AHzZ4BqtkkGjtp6nsu3gROBmDWyMhY6gkQaN199d_EzqHfMtIso8G_tImvPpetrf89Q3e7HOcai8dHnrEbuwNG4YPP5GZ88wd70_IsexZiiwPlDSaK/s1600/photo+3.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I thought it would be nice to use some honeycomb shapes to mirror the honeycomb border sticker I had used. Plus, I got a new honeycomb punch so I thought I would give it a workout. I haven't used a lot of punches in the past because I knew I could always cut the shape with my Cricut, and save the money on the punch. However, for some of the basic shapes that I use a lot those punches are just so much more darn convenient! I shoulda seen that long ago! I popped up every other hexagon and added some cute star stickers.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiTCNS-WJitJ0zXZ4qVzOBZajXYfrP_Ea6-erwaYD3VNQNDmRHhwPyaR0xT2omsWzWhmuKkNzayY1CTiJqkJSa6ZOsCL3E1t2uUQIRvzFz_nUPZF0RrTT_p8JE1R4cGGc246v8-VXjfK8Wg/s1600/photo+4.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiTCNS-WJitJ0zXZ4qVzOBZajXYfrP_Ea6-erwaYD3VNQNDmRHhwPyaR0xT2omsWzWhmuKkNzayY1CTiJqkJSa6ZOsCL3E1t2uUQIRvzFz_nUPZF0RrTT_p8JE1R4cGGc246v8-VXjfK8Wg/s1600/photo+4.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I used three different fun fonts for my title. I believe the 'Mommy's' and 'little' were fonts that I downloaded on my laptop, and the 'monster' is from the Dinosaur cartridge. I thought it worked very well for a monster page as well!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj9UOjVYhZoIn5nldZ8UAtLZ5Y2RX_MgcWEyeQ-8FbmeNAYVY5YUkT8GoKnRAV53OTkel6yBVoE1TW00C3Zy4wekgFVY4NXgWNZRVvtSsu49smWN8Ij_peYwfDfyj4ObPLz0jK8INRr9fNa/s1600/photo+5.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj9UOjVYhZoIn5nldZ8UAtLZ5Y2RX_MgcWEyeQ-8FbmeNAYVY5YUkT8GoKnRAV53OTkel6yBVoE1TW00C3Zy4wekgFVY4NXgWNZRVvtSsu49smWN8Ij_peYwfDfyj4ObPLz0jK8INRr9fNa/s1600/photo+5.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
And lastly, how cute is this 'RAWR'?? I knew I wanted to put a speech bubble with 'RAWR' since it looks like he is *actually* saying 'RAWR' in his photo! Then I found this ready made one and it couldn't have been more perfect for my page! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I hope you enjoyed my project, thanks for stopping by today!!</div>

Got another baby layout to share with you guys. The title of this layout is Eat. Sleep. Cry. Repeat. Whenever anyone sees it they say, 'you forgot poop!' Actually, I am well aware that the phrase is normally Eat, Sleep, Poop. However, in the case of my baby Eat Sleep Cry is more befitting. His poop was pretty minimal compared to the fussy crying, lol. So I thought it would be fun to capture some photos of him doing the three things that he does best:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjyqPtwGETvDR7cJSMdOA1fO5AhLqz1f-FrUQudt1GvQA47PlauJYOOn9ra78u8LYSQ3jLdXs7uB5N_XYDNXoAT8ms0hqZwHNgizGrXfbK_S_2eNqNcFtJNxkCgz4-sDk_HTVFNT9FohbGT/s1600/photo+1.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjyqPtwGETvDR7cJSMdOA1fO5AhLqz1f-FrUQudt1GvQA47PlauJYOOn9ra78u8LYSQ3jLdXs7uB5N_XYDNXoAT8ms0hqZwHNgizGrXfbK_S_2eNqNcFtJNxkCgz4-sDk_HTVFNT9FohbGT/s1600/photo+1.JPG" height="397" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
LOL! I still laugh when I look at these pictures. This may not be your 'conventional' baby page, but they capture Henry at age 1-8 weeks.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The paper I used for this layout is from Maggie Holmes for American Crafts, but then I mixed it up with the embellishments a bit. I am in love with these sequined bows from Freckled fawn. I must get more STAT. And the little vellum envelope is from DCWV. I actually wrote my journaling on a little tag and placed it in there- just for fun! The twine is from American Crafts and the fun sequins are from Doodlebug! And aren't those itty bitty tags just the cutest? Those are also from DCWV- I'm in love!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I love the confetti look, so I took a fun mix of different size and shape sequins and glued 'em down. I am also having a lot of fun with the Dear Lizzy triangle punch! Hope you enjoyed my layout, and thanks for stopping by!!</div>
<br />Heather May Holbrookhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16317469124773893073noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4641126817002155969.post-21615058606733159232014-04-14T10:27:00.000-07:002014-04-14T10:27:44.410-07:00This is my happyHi all! I've got a new layout to share with you today- this is one of my all time favorites. Sometimes everything just syncs up and you make something you can really be proud of. I decided to take a little break from scrapbooking Henry (I already have a full album and he's only 12 weeks old! By the time he's grown he'll need a storage unit for his scrapbooks!!) So I decided to do something TOTALLY different and scrapbook how Henry came to be, aka my pregnancy album. I know, I'm really stretching! haha! For this page I scrapped one of my maternity photos. They were taken up in the gorgeous Utah mountains last Fall. It was so beautiful!!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjuayTdwZ0Cwu9UkwDPPG9jsA78m4AO2gxDsN6bLSPJqbPPQZyXnVsTnxJccl2h9jgiEpzc9CZs7jW1rVU4ISK5nw3KiEiDMeILNljw7ar8kiJtF-ocjhCnGmvk_O47oqSeVXX_2vS3CUHx/s1600/photo+1.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjuayTdwZ0Cwu9UkwDPPG9jsA78m4AO2gxDsN6bLSPJqbPPQZyXnVsTnxJccl2h9jgiEpzc9CZs7jW1rVU4ISK5nw3KiEiDMeILNljw7ar8kiJtF-ocjhCnGmvk_O47oqSeVXX_2vS3CUHx/s1600/photo+1.JPG" height="395" width="400" /></a></div>
I used paper from Simple Stories for this layout. Correct me if i'm wrong, but I believe this company caters to the Project Life or pocket type scrapbooking. I think this style is awesome, and a great hybrid, but I still like to create the whole page layouts. But I really like a lot of the lines made by Simple Stories so I decided to show how you can still create full page layouts using this type of product.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj6u3CTIMYMgP1NZ8ZhFLMP-csLqYgMkjKdnMC18rbu4znyfdPEdIhE2DSSPsrvxjqX8lt8F1AI3qCqPLX5kLFKHzUGumop-VSFEwQ915proBb3wIZU8tU2AjtJ5nf1GiVLTgqL7Sz-FESj/s1600/photo+4.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj6u3CTIMYMgP1NZ8ZhFLMP-csLqYgMkjKdnMC18rbu4znyfdPEdIhE2DSSPsrvxjqX8lt8F1AI3qCqPLX5kLFKHzUGumop-VSFEwQ915proBb3wIZU8tU2AjtJ5nf1GiVLTgqL7Sz-FESj/s1600/photo+4.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
I used a sketch from <a href="http://stuckonusketches.blogspot.com/" target="_blank">Stuck on U sketches</a> as my starting point. I really liked the versatility of this sketch and had a lot of fun with it. Because of the layout, I was able to use a couple of the journaling cards as part of my design. I layered them over a frame cut from Elegant Edges. I added the cute cute borders on the top and bottom that were in the paper kit. They also have these awesome clear overlays (Acetate? Vellum? I'm not really sure what it's made of...) but I thought it looked cute and added a nice design element to my layout.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEijmDuxbjTq4VxyVl-3g7O3HVtHER03zMO3pt8UreeGHigYq3r522cb4Dg_bbJTsGlBusCa_QH7bwfcvgJVk4ETN9iHXmDb-kBUIYYQUESU1sY_5gxF_BHS7GhGIzq-CIlPf6FptXIhrVsp/s1600/photo+2.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEijmDuxbjTq4VxyVl-3g7O3HVtHER03zMO3pt8UreeGHigYq3r522cb4Dg_bbJTsGlBusCa_QH7bwfcvgJVk4ETN9iHXmDb-kBUIYYQUESU1sY_5gxF_BHS7GhGIzq-CIlPf6FptXIhrVsp/s1600/photo+2.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
I really really love these little man/woman shapes. They are so cute and fun! I got these from the Small Talk Frames and Tags cartridge. I layered them over a little fall tree and added a heart over the ladies' belly because... of course. ;)<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh3_tCfmy81iJYPqUc44GlPGwgbjsbpOH_vhpM1xPgX_lsR3WpnRsfCrY3MMErCIohmSk4rBpGFW6q62z8GVksbG5-D4QnlaKJ8L1WhchXutrKY5yXqWfLal0AJkeTBq5Q49d670_bUqMQL/s1600/photo+3.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh3_tCfmy81iJYPqUc44GlPGwgbjsbpOH_vhpM1xPgX_lsR3WpnRsfCrY3MMErCIohmSk4rBpGFW6q62z8GVksbG5-D4QnlaKJ8L1WhchXutrKY5yXqWfLal0AJkeTBq5Q49d670_bUqMQL/s1600/photo+3.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Just used alphas from the paper kit for my title- and it's so true. That man and the little baby that was growing in my belly are my true life's happiness!</div>
<br />
Thanks for checking out my project and stopping by today- I sure appreciate your support!!Heather May Holbrookhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16317469124773893073noreply@blogger.com8tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4641126817002155969.post-53619162944367802052014-04-13T07:00:00.000-07:002014-04-13T07:00:01.291-07:00Brand NewHiya! So today I have a layout to share featuring the awesome Vintage Collector stack from DCWV. I'm not sure if you're aware, but DCWV started making embellishments to coordinate with their paper, and they started with coordinating embellishments for this stack. Let me tell you, these embellishments are AWESOME. Really fun, really on trend and a great variety. They have dimensional stickers, alphas, washi, chipboard frames and some fun 3D elements that coordinate with the paper. You should definitely check it out! I happen to be a big fan of this line as it uses a lot of elements that are "my style". Here is what I created with it:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgwiM016-uMVMv3RHfzj5mg1-48KQykaBV7MBbTWUvL0rXyOSctqWLYswvMFvIki6QxM7V2JVI5ZyRHc4fC1M-NHlDAv4vsPb_QrWIu1N4t_NPtI79lxPfq9Xjy4lF9Jl6IZ1pqYz7aj6CB/s1600/photo+1.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgwiM016-uMVMv3RHfzj5mg1-48KQykaBV7MBbTWUvL0rXyOSctqWLYswvMFvIki6QxM7V2JVI5ZyRHc4fC1M-NHlDAv4vsPb_QrWIu1N4t_NPtI79lxPfq9Xjy4lF9Jl6IZ1pqYz7aj6CB/s1600/photo+1.JPG" height="400" width="392" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Everything I used on the page is from the DCWV Vintage Collector line. Fun fun line. For the title I fussy cut the letters from a page that has the entire alphabet in these cute blocks. I used letters from both the 6x6 and 12x12 stacks to get the varying sizes.</div>

They have a book of different stickers, many of which have space for journaling, so I used that for my journaling spot. The journaling is telling about the big plans for Henry's newborn photos that I had. I researched posing newborns and pored over Pinterest for ideas. I knew that the shots had to be taken in the first 2 weeks, when newborns sleep a lot. That way you can get them into those cute poses without too much fuss. I was so proud that I would be able to take his shots myself since I had been studying photography and wouldn't have to pay another photographer. Well, life doesn't always go as we plan it and Henry just did not want to stay asleep- or calm- to have his photo taken. I only managed to get a couple good shots. Oh well! He has had many sessions since then where he was cooperative and I've gotten some great shots of him!! The journaling reads: I had very big plans for your first newborn photo shoot. Unfortunately they required you to be very asleep & you didn't want to cooperate! I only managed to get a couple good shots. But there were many photo shoots to come!"</div>

Today I have a special layout to share with you!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhEYACauwglD3l3q8H9WQvr2gblP11V9LOvzxQNfXW7seL0-JqxyEOS9W5qhX7PLseToLw6ZOhg2JmRlQpqnRDFjX5x89YFhR-EiUDqTew3jVTupnGC0Jm0OuR5lJHXi_DjXpsoCfJ9Nckk/s3200/photo+4.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhEYACauwglD3l3q8H9WQvr2gblP11V9LOvzxQNfXW7seL0-JqxyEOS9W5qhX7PLseToLw6ZOhg2JmRlQpqnRDFjX5x89YFhR-EiUDqTew3jVTupnGC0Jm0OuR5lJHXi_DjXpsoCfJ9Nckk/s3200/photo+4.JPG" height="400" width="398" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This was a moment when my dad was meeting Henry for the first time. Just a little background- Henry was 6 years in the making. There were many (including myself) that had concluded that being a mom just wasn't going to be in the cards for me. But then a miracle happened. Sometimes things just need to happen at the right time, right place and with the right people. So Henry was due on my dad's birthday, and I was around 10 1/2 weeks on Father's Day so we decided that was when we would announce my pregnancy. Because of those ties to my dad we wrote it all up in a card and had him read aloud it in front of everybody, however he figured out what we were trying to say and got very emotional before he could finish reading the card. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="text-align: start;">It was a very sweet and special memory for us, so I wanted to do a special layout showing when my dad finally met his newest grandson. </span>As you can probably tell, my dad is a biker and looks like one! So I wanted to marry some harder biker-ish elements with the sweeter baby elements in the layout, so I added some gear shapes, and the "wild thing" phrase in honor of my dad, "Papa".</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhE7Be3HgSY7ldybtBB-Vi61UuXEoj5VTkQ3RIOsEx1aN-WaWAfwOLc8zmSIrYdG5UOoFmsCKYOmGjFIryUtCcU766FWGUPg0YtYV1oVQo6Nw9nmWviLTrFJZdTpc76nIbBEJLBR8wh8Hna/s3200/photo+1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhE7Be3HgSY7ldybtBB-Vi61UuXEoj5VTkQ3RIOsEx1aN-WaWAfwOLc8zmSIrYdG5UOoFmsCKYOmGjFIryUtCcU766FWGUPg0YtYV1oVQo6Nw9nmWviLTrFJZdTpc76nIbBEJLBR8wh8Hna/s3200/photo+1.jpg" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I love stars on boy pages and probably overuse them a bit, but I love the rounded edges of these stars from the Baby Steps cartridge- so cute for baby boy pages! I used the DCWV My Sunshine Stack for this page.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I seriously love this viewfinder cut- I think I will be using this one a LOT in the future! And I still love Chevron, what can I say? It's not going to be going anywhere on my layouts anytime soon.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I designed the title on my Cricut Explore, and mixed fonts to create one that is softer and one that is harder (Blackletter) to represent the baby and the biker. :)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Here is the stack I used- some really cute design elements (phrases and journaling cards) for kid pages.</div>

Sometimes you just don't have the time to spend a lot of time designing, or die-cutting images, but you still want a traditional layout for your scrapbook. This is when I turn to collection kits. They usually include coordinating papers with alphas as well as matching stickers and journaling cards, so you can literally complete a full layout in as few as 20 minutes. I used Echo Park's Bundle of Joy boy for this one, and by using the embellishments included in the kit it came together very quickly.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

I love the journaling cards that allow you to jot down thoughts or memories without taking away from your design theme.</div>

<br />Heather May Holbrookhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16317469124773893073noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4641126817002155969.post-79306942975803579882014-04-01T07:00:00.000-07:002014-04-01T07:00:05.124-07:00Ten fingers and ten toesHiya friends! So I had a lot of fun playing with the Cricut Design Space for this project. I never really got into the Gypsy, even though I know a lot of you swear by it, so the designing and manipulating of images is pretty new to me, but now that I have jumped on the bandwagon I just LOVE it. I love how you can take an existing design and tweak it to be whatever you want. I also love that you can use any font that you have on your computer. Gives you so many creative possibilities with titling and journaling, and it's just plain fun!! So here is my layout:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhZ1GzJ74m34tMpnOD38uyYZ2kdRw6m13qzMe9n5lUiV9J7buwZVsBgpfBQeOQMPE4ehsj43VpOXPpF4Kx0KEDCcOkY6GewgowfpkUqJMbY1n4T24BIev4AkggxgoK73LY9dkPsI9eNrnSf/s3200/photo+1.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhZ1GzJ74m34tMpnOD38uyYZ2kdRw6m13qzMe9n5lUiV9J7buwZVsBgpfBQeOQMPE4ehsj43VpOXPpF4Kx0KEDCcOkY6GewgowfpkUqJMbY1n4T24BIev4AkggxgoK73LY9dkPsI9eNrnSf/s3200/photo+1.JPG" height="395" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Aren't those tiny little baby fingers and toes just the cutest?! So for this layout I used one of my all time favorite stacks from DCWV- Sunday Afternoon. This really is one of my favorites. The images are a little vintage-y, a little whimsical and right up my alley.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiHgLO6gOUvNs2nT8zxFKFhBpaXT2S-kwXT8ocSfWVPjWkx8djYEfApQUHE0KQObxpUAoWRPehUU3TaP291m9Hbiej8awK3hX0ORc4uCJmk_bI7LnqPFjODan3942fhOWMELc02qyChQ4Hx/s3200/photo+2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiHgLO6gOUvNs2nT8zxFKFhBpaXT2S-kwXT8ocSfWVPjWkx8djYEfApQUHE0KQObxpUAoWRPehUU3TaP291m9Hbiej8awK3hX0ORc4uCJmk_bI7LnqPFjODan3942fhOWMELc02qyChQ4Hx/s3200/photo+2.jpg" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Here is where I had a little fun with the designing element of this page- designing the title. It was fun to have the freedom to use different fonts, to manipulate the size to fit your page, weld, etc all on the same computer screen and then have it print out as one project. As opposed to how I USED to do it which was to cut my letters one cartridge at a time, and being limited to what I could to with the image. Okay, I know I am a little late to the party with the designing aspect of this, but I was really intimidated by the software aspect, and thought it seemed complicated to learn so I just wasn't interested in taking the time. Turns out it was super easy and I'm so glad I dived in!</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The hearts were fussy cut from a page in the stack, and literally every heart on the page has a different design and they are all absolutely adorable!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
And isn't this banner the cutest? I just love the patterns in this stack, and yes, I still love banners on my layouts. What can I say, I'm a banner junkie.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Film strips (and vintage cameras) are another design trend that I am really into right now. I simply love this film strip image.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
So there's my layout, hope you enjoyed it! If you would like to get some of this darling paper for yourself (and you definitely should! It's adorbs!!) here is a picture of the stack:</div>

<br />Heather May Holbrookhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16317469124773893073noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4641126817002155969.post-59727283717622233422014-03-30T07:00:00.000-07:002014-04-12T09:28:22.892-07:00My little SONshineHi folks! I'm back with another layout featuring... wait for it... Henry! Haha, you might as well get used to it ;) So I have always wanted to do one of those fun sunbeam layouts, but simply didn't have the patience to measure and cut all the different rays. Enter Cricut's Edge to Edge cartridge, and they have a cute sunburst design which meant I didn't have to do any hand cutting or measuring! I did have to do a little tracing and hand cutting, but that was easy when the measurements were already there. So here is my layout:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhHaXHWAx-9FyldRgjXUmJncYIibsi-uHyx79h8RIBySZNaYYEWyZBZ-oIitkzSFjkXdJ7ZV_1ciI0PxfVzLagJjzQf-G6usc2k553I08TDEH8aRbjXLMI8OX4ATOZ3OqIG5B2nL4TWofal/s3200/photo+1.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhHaXHWAx-9FyldRgjXUmJncYIibsi-uHyx79h8RIBySZNaYYEWyZBZ-oIitkzSFjkXdJ7ZV_1ciI0PxfVzLagJjzQf-G6usc2k553I08TDEH8aRbjXLMI8OX4ATOZ3OqIG5B2nL4TWofal/s3200/photo+1.JPG" height="398" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
So once I cut out the sunburst shape on my Cricut, I took the negatives and attached them to the patterned papers I wanted in the empty windows with removable adhesive. I then just cut around them and glued them to the backside of the empty spaces. Easy peasy!!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgQkmQLSFbTnFU_7eXwih4whKU_O2oLpMx_cKe-f0PHZnUtwoYCbda2k4IYEVgnXvcz9GweNOaOChhh2Fl_h7e2NlUHD6HjWwwOG0m6eeKYYiRqMJdb6tOdu5QhCfwJhH2coqjVJYoLJ5ZZ/s3200/photo+2.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgQkmQLSFbTnFU_7eXwih4whKU_O2oLpMx_cKe-f0PHZnUtwoYCbda2k4IYEVgnXvcz9GweNOaOChhh2Fl_h7e2NlUHD6HjWwwOG0m6eeKYYiRqMJdb6tOdu5QhCfwJhH2coqjVJYoLJ5ZZ/s3200/photo+2.JPG" height="320" width="246" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The stars were fussy cut from one of the patterned papers (this was from Echo Park) and then popped up on foam.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjFlKBC2z31G166P2JJtNj65TMmp8KCpvGhF8IBezA8PK1ee8L3iPnI54yC0bX26RRLvH4-XykGK3kYVffvgADrioFQLd7uWOZtsjt6-N03elWQanpDEbPMV8dFfWWI70J-51EDL1W0u4oo/s3200/photo+3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjFlKBC2z31G166P2JJtNj65TMmp8KCpvGhF8IBezA8PK1ee8L3iPnI54yC0bX26RRLvH4-XykGK3kYVffvgADrioFQLd7uWOZtsjt6-N03elWQanpDEbPMV8dFfWWI70J-51EDL1W0u4oo/s3200/photo+3.jpg" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
For the title I just used the stickers that came with the paper collection. It was easy, and I actually thought the bright colors and whimsical pattern matched my page really well.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhyo67I1gLAmIFkaJI1wC-4Pw16e-mMVz5F7EC06kxzcZBQt5N7n-Ml4xYAgA_IQ5FNIMxcu05LkynIkAhQTGaZJdnAzU5u-EVeRwSq_UgihSxOT5_wOikdvxEQklBnwDV6B1FwFrKJFc5N/s3200/photo+4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhyo67I1gLAmIFkaJI1wC-4Pw16e-mMVz5F7EC06kxzcZBQt5N7n-Ml4xYAgA_IQ5FNIMxcu05LkynIkAhQTGaZJdnAzU5u-EVeRwSq_UgihSxOT5_wOikdvxEQklBnwDV6B1FwFrKJFc5N/s3200/photo+4.jpg" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I had a cut file for this polaroid frame that I was able to cut with my Cricut Explore (isn't it so awesome that we can do that now??!) and voila! Page is done! This was a very quick and simple page, and I love how the bright colors match the cute little monster knit hat that Henry is wearing. This hat was homemade, too, which is just amazing to me! Some people have such talent!!</div>
<br />
I'm linking this page up with <a href="http://paperissues.blogspot.com/2014/03/new-issue-pocket-full-of-sunshine.html" target="_blank">Paper Issues</a> for their "Sunshine" theme this month!Heather May Holbrookhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16317469124773893073noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4641126817002155969.post-91767739930449511362014-03-28T07:00:00.000-07:002014-03-28T07:00:07.149-07:00Also Known AsSo I thought it would be fun to do a layout of all the different nicknames Henry has already accumulated in his short 8 weeks of life thus far. I especially wanted to do it when I bought the Baby Steps cartridge and saw that one of the cuts was a little street sign that says "Scooter St." as this is the nickname Henry's dad calls him the most- Scooter. So this is what I came up with:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj_G1DqqInrUbe-0hgiabLtljfscjp8l1lGMn3o05j7rmCOrK53wgcHVOSrI1qqpwHx65MKdgth_lVzBY4QRKlQt2IbD5evsYBktBOXpS7YskqU5cGpoQhfcoYnD4JqC8onyro5Yv3p672U/s3200/photo+1.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj_G1DqqInrUbe-0hgiabLtljfscjp8l1lGMn3o05j7rmCOrK53wgcHVOSrI1qqpwHx65MKdgth_lVzBY4QRKlQt2IbD5evsYBktBOXpS7YskqU5cGpoQhfcoYnD4JqC8onyro5Yv3p672U/s3200/photo+1.JPG" height="398" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
All the paper in this layout is from DCWV The Sky's the Limit stack. Really cute prints for a sunny or rainy day page. I liked them for this layout for the color palette and whimsical images. I had a lot of fun designing on my Cricut Explore for this page, and I continue to be amazed by the capabilities! One caveat- when you have a machine that will cut teeny tiny letters, you then have to find a way to get said letters adhered to your page. Not an easy task, especially with sticky fingers!! ;)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEggxYOSbXhvi5lknXUDNjcgFa2Ib0MV20fE01ffBx6YRV09R_lR7eXLDv-GpCQOchcg9AYDcJSj6K8knhMt20aeSRd3WMx8PcxeQLI-blx_ztAHkYecjcGD_VimZJhGlvVaBhwZBWwu8XOC/s3200/photo+2.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEggxYOSbXhvi5lknXUDNjcgFa2Ib0MV20fE01ffBx6YRV09R_lR7eXLDv-GpCQOchcg9AYDcJSj6K8knhMt20aeSRd3WMx8PcxeQLI-blx_ztAHkYecjcGD_VimZJhGlvVaBhwZBWwu8XOC/s3200/photo+2.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I loved the "hello my name is" name tag for this page theme. So appropriate. And here is the infamous "Scooter Street" image that inspired this page! The cardstock I used for some of this is also from DCWV- their Shimmer Stack. Hopefully you can see in the photo, it has a nice shimmer/sheen to it without being too overbearingly glittery. I am not the biggest glitter fan. I know, that is almost blasphemy in scrapbook world, but it just isn't my thing. I do appreciate a bit of sparkle, though and this really fits the bill!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgN3rFPJEicSb01Pbp79v4twgnUHoMdQz2b4ZtrNzH0OAYEDb7elshdQClM7TGvq7C8groTQ4EWtxW82opweeN-pNtHgoAmswGA4qv47y3Isn493TTnZKtgxh2OJf0jFWnw-E9JaiTicNML/s3200/photo+3.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgN3rFPJEicSb01Pbp79v4twgnUHoMdQz2b4ZtrNzH0OAYEDb7elshdQClM7TGvq7C8groTQ4EWtxW82opweeN-pNtHgoAmswGA4qv47y3Isn493TTnZKtgxh2OJf0jFWnw-E9JaiTicNML/s3200/photo+3.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I titled the page "AKA" as in 'Also Known As' and then listed his different nicknames in the journaling. How cute is this banner! There are some really cute cut apart images in this stack- clouds, rainbows, hot air balloons, etc.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Here is a close up of the journaling, with the nicknames listed. Hopefully you can read my handwriting :/<br />
Here are the stacks I used- definitely check them out if you like this page :)<br />

I have a cute layout to share with you of my favorite outfit of Henry's. We used this bear suit kind of like a coat when we took him out and I seriously could not get enough of him in it, it is so dang cute. I was lucky to get a few good pictures of him in his cub outfit. Here it is (and prepare for cuteness!!)<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgwIqbhdw6BwbrelbGVfyxNb-oRuHbhiqb9RA85POh1W38t01eMZJHQ_1RGlMm9rTWlyxXRxgmdlYcUA3C23BlXVO5_uCxR5VEfymniFEwQIfgeenISkFbbgysZeoe4TzVxaJnlvg12XiJF/s1600/photo+1.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgwIqbhdw6BwbrelbGVfyxNb-oRuHbhiqb9RA85POh1W38t01eMZJHQ_1RGlMm9rTWlyxXRxgmdlYcUA3C23BlXVO5_uCxR5VEfymniFEwQIfgeenISkFbbgysZeoe4TzVxaJnlvg12XiJF/s1600/photo+1.JPG" height="400" width="397" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Tell me that's not the cutest thing ever! ;) So I went to my stash for this layout using some old MME product from a few years back. I was really proud of myself because I only had a couple sheets of it and I managed to pull this out!!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I used Thickers for the title- something we started calling our baby after he first wore the bear costume.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I used the new Dear Lizzy triangle punch to punch out the triangle arrows, and then popped them on foam.</div>

I have another layout to share with you today. This is another one of those special photos that I really wanted to do justice to on a layout. I can't say I love it as much as I hoped I would, but I don't hate it :/ That's just the way it goes sometimes, right?? There are things I love about it though... like the product which is all from the Dear Lizzy 5th and Frolic collection. I seriously love her, and her products are so fun! But back to my layout- this photo is one of a few taken when I met my baby boy for the first time. I was so hoping to get a picture that truly captured the emotion of that moment, and I think my boyfriend did an amazing job with this photo. It's really very special to me. And here it is:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj8lNoAf7oz2rSdIH511hH6gwGEjmdDDrNJ1QDiOft-OxTZXbtVmjn_IbRkbDYpkUjN_AC30UVmXBUAI8bCgHwdL9YOFsqGpN11UkPUQLun6u3Wn9KHgao38aj1K0uskxUqg6X1TEb3_n9A/s1600/photo+1.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj8lNoAf7oz2rSdIH511hH6gwGEjmdDDrNJ1QDiOft-OxTZXbtVmjn_IbRkbDYpkUjN_AC30UVmXBUAI8bCgHwdL9YOFsqGpN11UkPUQLun6u3Wn9KHgao38aj1K0uskxUqg6X1TEb3_n9A/s1600/photo+1.JPG" height="398" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The paper, stamp, and buttons are from the Dear Lizzy collection, tab from Basic Grey, clothespin from Pebbles, Letter stickers from Echo Park and Carta Bella, and Washi Tape from MME.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhJKsVnORnwRd8VULsWs1oCnlwgAwkhp4Qbg6SIAC-dCA4SKev7IKFDCly2WdKP7vL2Ps228z6piis9rocWM3ho_Ix977Jpqyq1aTS01SupgocRToedHJ4LFulShJ2KegA6IcBjtcpliyPC/s1600/photo+2.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhJKsVnORnwRd8VULsWs1oCnlwgAwkhp4Qbg6SIAC-dCA4SKev7IKFDCly2WdKP7vL2Ps228z6piis9rocWM3ho_Ix977Jpqyq1aTS01SupgocRToedHJ4LFulShJ2KegA6IcBjtcpliyPC/s1600/photo+2.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The title is my favorite part of this layout (although the placement of it is NOT), but I just love the sentiment.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgCrM3gEojqILbqJc6sGVk6Y6OmHANNRQTocGu7RzO1Sd8mNYqGdmgxqGdmfpJ3TRJT-E0HUD6EkIS3mLIGQCwII11-W0FcgaEd669xivsHMSuCiKbd32veaKf0LvAB4TJu0wEMN1o2fvU0/s1600/photo+3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgCrM3gEojqILbqJc6sGVk6Y6OmHANNRQTocGu7RzO1Sd8mNYqGdmgxqGdmfpJ3TRJT-E0HUD6EkIS3mLIGQCwII11-W0FcgaEd669xivsHMSuCiKbd32veaKf0LvAB4TJu0wEMN1o2fvU0/s1600/photo+3.jpg" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I also LOVE this sentiment. In case you can't read my handwriting ;) it says 'I did not give you the gift of life, Life gave me the gift of you'. Isn't that so sweet? I'm sure all you mommas out there can totally relate, right?</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgRKzNYh5UFVnF1uRPFw0oNDLxcMvxnz7vbWskW6QedFjB7ETUswUCR0FvbIG1gTzt2M2eeRjcXsFxnY-8HQ3Hd35x__u_oK2kIPSFV77V9bHZHozLquOt-clvb3SKWXrvLNpQX5QAw7b64/s1600/photo+4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgRKzNYh5UFVnF1uRPFw0oNDLxcMvxnz7vbWskW6QedFjB7ETUswUCR0FvbIG1gTzt2M2eeRjcXsFxnY-8HQ3Hd35x__u_oK2kIPSFV77V9bHZHozLquOt-clvb3SKWXrvLNpQX5QAw7b64/s1600/photo+4.jpg" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Love these wood and enamel buttons, they're just so sweet!!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I hope you enjoyed the project, thanks so much for stopping by today!!</div>

I'm back today with another favorite project to share with you! This is another one of those special photos that I hoped to do justice to, and I am so so happy with the way this layout turned out. My boyfriend is the most amazing father. He is patient, attentive, supportive and loving (to me!) and he just loves the pants off of our little one. I couldn't ask for a better father for our son. And he's pretty darn handsome to boot!! I wanted to take some nice daddy/baby photos of the two of them, but Henry was being a bit of a cranky pants. I did manage to get a couple nice shots, though, and this one is my favorite. I used a few different DCWV stacks for this layout: Baby Boy and Decor Noir.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjQDNb8sc-v-i0i4i-z2OcgfWZpGT-dzlcB32iVuJkluX_N00RRnamMRNJ5635Yc7Biu886QYPpjGAQJvaMmjq-TDrwCvU9Dc6n3iF87YvbUNIGORerirNSulpQoCgyqPVruqVae5vUeGJq/s1600/photo+1.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjQDNb8sc-v-i0i4i-z2OcgfWZpGT-dzlcB32iVuJkluX_N00RRnamMRNJ5635Yc7Biu886QYPpjGAQJvaMmjq-TDrwCvU9Dc6n3iF87YvbUNIGORerirNSulpQoCgyqPVruqVae5vUeGJq/s1600/photo+1.JPG" height="400" width="397" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I wanted to keep the bulk of the layout monochrome (grey) and then add just a pop of color (blue). I added blue accents in the circle border strips that were cut on my Cricut from the Elegant Edges cartridge. How cute are they!! I also added some blue washi from my stash.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjoLXxhQW_lA1MS1sM6uWgPlsgMh_u93xt9A-9Gneb482F0JW-rqT3uif5ZGLKg_PpmP5bBQrROk3amLdL7FVGJnl_SHW5B71GFLqd3pBGxLVxQZ8pbS8sYEdR_2KmzcrKMA2s95KXwGmrp/s1600/photo+2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjoLXxhQW_lA1MS1sM6uWgPlsgMh_u93xt9A-9Gneb482F0JW-rqT3uif5ZGLKg_PpmP5bBQrROk3amLdL7FVGJnl_SHW5B71GFLqd3pBGxLVxQZ8pbS8sYEdR_2KmzcrKMA2s95KXwGmrp/s1600/photo+2.jpg" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I ended up finding a lot of the blue pieces from pages in the stack that had a metallic finish and I liked that a lot. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEijHA1C_vRapXTXA0oD5I7UU0CvXeymHSlOS5H4J0QhtHH14wW7K7jjli6jazRpS_c1U5MJneNv6nj4yrY4MTKS3jEWIEh_HcUInkeuldwwKtaYm1EeyVknAaRq7deOV5mZNlb6mGUZGWfd/s1600/photo+3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEijHA1C_vRapXTXA0oD5I7UU0CvXeymHSlOS5H4J0QhtHH14wW7K7jjli6jazRpS_c1U5MJneNv6nj4yrY4MTKS3jEWIEh_HcUInkeuldwwKtaYm1EeyVknAaRq7deOV5mZNlb6mGUZGWfd/s1600/photo+3.jpg" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I thought this tiny little baby banner was just too cute for words! Had to use it, so I popped it up to add some dimension and really make it pop out. All of the phrases, banners and images were fussy cut from pages in the stack.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj-mf2y_3yzpDwiqCy5InLPkRxmoYTfb6AtmmPdf3FmziasTII19p4EW8CHuwuBth5UcK1kOLWCQ4g1UPpdxjlLnaotZrCKiss5PP1wpmKS9fOgngKK5o__A4uFeEtHVk9dql88IGl5hpPx/s1600/photo+4.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj-mf2y_3yzpDwiqCy5InLPkRxmoYTfb6AtmmPdf3FmziasTII19p4EW8CHuwuBth5UcK1kOLWCQ4g1UPpdxjlLnaotZrCKiss5PP1wpmKS9fOgngKK5o__A4uFeEtHVk9dql88IGl5hpPx/s1600/photo+4.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This title says it all, and it is enough said. Having the two of them in my life now has made my life complete.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Here are the stacks I used to create this layout:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEib63rmOKDov10W9lDR5CfbnFa6TyBOR87oYGmUSb_G5CeZsu-OECxNzY3w6agLzPKHJVCu3BmFdOhH_ImiCPxMFaRCPGDNNK984UYrspjh8H57-M8XK0XO3a_ufKyBQacuULNDaz43EV6o/s1600/sb4129.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEib63rmOKDov10W9lDR5CfbnFa6TyBOR87oYGmUSb_G5CeZsu-OECxNzY3w6agLzPKHJVCu3BmFdOhH_ImiCPxMFaRCPGDNNK984UYrspjh8H57-M8XK0XO3a_ufKyBQacuULNDaz43EV6o/s1600/sb4129.jpg" height="320" width="307" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I forgot to mention that the texture of the papers in this stack is different than the usual cardstock you are used to seeing- it has a bit of a slick finish.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEglvsZ5Lfr8sWXUc93HMA8i8klSWZaj5k3-a-ocOwhC5Biaq7ImS2A6-xjUzeyxCKMnJ1OBr4VuJThwMMJZ-SfpEF_Mg8cqnlOaUiYO0Wn6BWQMTSYJj1hDgLm3vv7W56vOPYF5WUO3HI-j/s1600/decor-noire.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEglvsZ5Lfr8sWXUc93HMA8i8klSWZaj5k3-a-ocOwhC5Biaq7ImS2A6-xjUzeyxCKMnJ1OBr4VuJThwMMJZ-SfpEF_Mg8cqnlOaUiYO0Wn6BWQMTSYJj1hDgLm3vv7W56vOPYF5WUO3HI-j/s1600/decor-noire.jpg" height="320" width="307" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The entire palette of this stack is black/white/grey with accents of gold. It is very sophisticated and elegant. Would be great for wedding/prom/special events pages and projects.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>

I have another layout to share with you today! So, I am a big fan of not always using baby themed papers and colors on baby pages. Sometimes it's fun to just mix it up a bit! In this layout I was using one of Henry's newborn photos in which he is wearing an adorable little aviator hat and lying in a vintage style suitcase, so I thought it would be fun to use some vintage style travel themed papers. I thought it really came together. Here is the layout:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjYvZ5MNkpUuo8Hq_w5jNJ38w0s_0tlKXNnvnZjh6C0cUR43mEYRll8AgtWZ-cNaxtwsfNDeCZRwK7AdZ57ITiRug9JeaSJW14yaP2XmYkMk4jUJ13kxjRedSfEJDbX4KShT4-O1-7UM_Tr/s1600/photo+1.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjYvZ5MNkpUuo8Hq_w5jNJ38w0s_0tlKXNnvnZjh6C0cUR43mEYRll8AgtWZ-cNaxtwsfNDeCZRwK7AdZ57ITiRug9JeaSJW14yaP2XmYkMk4jUJ13kxjRedSfEJDbX4KShT4-O1-7UM_Tr/s1600/photo+1.JPG" height="398" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I used two different DCWV stacks for this layout: World Traveler and Timeless Type.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEilWBLa8r4FRVheEwkboiPN5hgucGCi2s2Gq3zyODxMrxFcJnMx6rTJgSwVnEQ7eXNpi_wge2ch8eW62uFP04oZadxkmNHDpC4_kM8eH8VJHVQGrmgNYjg_h4CHg6NACxwm382ncrBkyxuy/s1600/photo+2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEilWBLa8r4FRVheEwkboiPN5hgucGCi2s2Gq3zyODxMrxFcJnMx6rTJgSwVnEQ7eXNpi_wge2ch8eW62uFP04oZadxkmNHDpC4_kM8eH8VJHVQGrmgNYjg_h4CHg6NACxwm382ncrBkyxuy/s1600/photo+2.jpg" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
There were lots of fun little tickets, stamps and other vintage-y goodies to cut out and pop up on my page that fit with the theme. Those cute little tiny paper clips are from Tim Holtz- aren't they so cute?</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiuMvQETCykiGqZA5-AJG4hqCH9VGbvxHsUUvRQEeRnxH4ArruH326-uU8uSQXuYJKkp7MhwgXILXDECo287A4vJBLxmi9A2UxjzRQzNvEfInO03ysna_tdiuYlpqLd525xG0YJcKbt8AHp/s1600/photo+3.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiuMvQETCykiGqZA5-AJG4hqCH9VGbvxHsUUvRQEeRnxH4ArruH326-uU8uSQXuYJKkp7MhwgXILXDECo287A4vJBLxmi9A2UxjzRQzNvEfInO03ysna_tdiuYlpqLd525xG0YJcKbt8AHp/s1600/photo+3.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Here are some more goodies.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The antique typewriter key style letter stickers are from Echo Park, and I added some vintage looking brads from my stash and the twine is from an American Crafts ribbon pack.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Here is another favorite photo from this newborn session:</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Here are the stacks I used:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Anyone who's had a baby knows that photographing those little wiggle worms can be challenging! So I took my camera and just started shooting away, hoping to get a few good shots in there. What I got was a little catalog of all of his funny faces and expressions. He's always making funny little faces and it is just so dang cute! So I decided to document a few of them. I also decided to play along with the scraplift challenge over at <a href="http://xoxoscrapbooking.blogspot.com/" target="_blank">True XOXO Scrapbooking</a>. Here is my layout:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjalxBmiMHms2anZhQNRgTK3z-gbH7w9aADAPM-T8_n3QqIVsst5rLSp0hIzI6YsitAltQiSC83wDOH_rbdetAFVOMR1biUDZZDU3hySpd6Z_PNvtLh37IiWDbUEnOxr1zRfIb58Mhe2Lj4/s3200/photo+1.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjalxBmiMHms2anZhQNRgTK3z-gbH7w9aADAPM-T8_n3QqIVsst5rLSp0hIzI6YsitAltQiSC83wDOH_rbdetAFVOMR1biUDZZDU3hySpd6Z_PNvtLh37IiWDbUEnOxr1zRfIb58Mhe2Lj4/s3200/photo+1.JPG" height="400" width="391" /></a></div>
I think sometimes it is fun to do a challenge where you are forced to create in a style, with elements or from a sketch that isn't your usual style because it forces you out of your box a little bit and you get to really dig into those creative juices. All the paper in this layout is from the DCWV Kidlet Stack.<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I cut the title with my new Cricut Explore (Cue giddy squealing). I just love how anything I can dream up I can create, and it's so much easier to bring it to life. You Silhouette users have already been onto this for a while, but I was a little late to the party. Now I'm on the bandwagon!</div>

I was a little stumped with how to embellish this page, as it seemed a little busy already, and I didn't want to over-do it, so I kept it a little simple by cutting out some letter blocks, and a little fox (I like to sing that song that shall not be mentioned to my baby, and sometimes I can get a little smile out of him!)</div>
<br />
I hope you enjoyed my page, I really like the way it came out. So yay for inspiration!! Here is the stack I used:<br />

<br />
Hiya! Okay SO. I have been a die hard Cricut fan since I first became aware of them. I have pretty much owned every machine they have released and invested a lot of money in a lot of cartridges. Then the Silhouette came out. Slowly I saw more and more people converting to the Silhouette and I was about to become one of them. I already owned so many cartridges that having to buy Provo Craft software wasn't really an issue for me, but I liked the fact that if there was a new image trend that I wanted to jump on, and Cricut wasn't quite up to speed with a cartridge release then I could use any image or file that I had on my computer- including fonts. What was holding me back (besides the cost and investment I had already put into Cricut) was having to learn a new software program that seemed intimidating, and a pain to have to learn on my own. Then... out of the blue I hear about Cricut's new machine release. It was like exactly what I needed- I still get to use all of my favorite Cricut goodies but have the freedom of using any image I find on the internet- for free. Now I have never used the Silhouette, so I don't have anything to compare it to, but I can say that the Cricut Explore is COOL. It is so fun, and SO easy to use. I was able to figure out their software program pretty much on my own. Granted, there is still a lot of things that I would need to figure out but I was able to cut and design some things on my own, and import some images I had on my computer and it worked beautifully. I am not computer inept by any means, but I do get intimidated by some software programs if they're not really user friendly and I haven't had any instruction. I was literally able to just jump into this one and start designing and cutting without any problems or frustration. On top of that the precision is so much more advanced than before, the possibilities are pretty much endless. As if all that wasn't enough, they have a whole library of ready to make, pre-designed projects that you can make. All you have to do is get the supplies. There are several that I would like to try out! Long story short, this machine was so fun to play with and I am so excited for all the possibilities of it. So excited, that I created an entire post about it, haha! This was actually supposed to be a project post, lol, but once I started going off on the machine I decided I better save that for another post! So, anyway, I just wanted to share my enthusiasm if any of you Cricut users out there were thinking about switching over to the Silhouette just know there is another option out there! I'm going to sign off now so I can go play with another project on my new toy!! Happy crafting!!Heather May Holbrookhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16317469124773893073noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4641126817002155969.post-56737033912662715822014-03-18T07:00:00.000-07:002014-03-18T07:00:03.848-07:00Hi! I'm new here...Hi all! I have another baby layout to share with you today! Are you surprised? hee hee! What should surprise you is that I am typing out this whole post with one hand because I have a sleeping baby in my other arm who will wake up the second he is set down! We make so many adjustments as mothers, don't we!<br />
This is a photo from Henry's at-home one month photo shoot. All paper and embellies are from DCWV Baby Boy stack (see image below).<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhLVITvi6kf-kKo48EPLjDudLmkfqAjceXH44FGdtn95nHp7UyNNRzwCzrC14KG3s7i0VdaA4jdnQjJR7EcWokizP_27nxHFaiaojeTWSnOjZRYdYs8kaXW6bYyVuSJELT7l79Oz_Gz52fr/s1600/photo+1.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhLVITvi6kf-kKo48EPLjDudLmkfqAjceXH44FGdtn95nHp7UyNNRzwCzrC14KG3s7i0VdaA4jdnQjJR7EcWokizP_27nxHFaiaojeTWSnOjZRYdYs8kaXW6bYyVuSJELT7l79Oz_Gz52fr/s1600/photo+1.JPG" height="400" width="398" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The background paper is from the shimmer stack from DCWV. It's hard to see in the photo, but it has a nice shimmer that isn't too overwhelming, but gives a nice sheen and complements the glittered papers from the Baby Boy stack nicely.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhwhzouMLruIpcNaIF4MIZjVK0PP2X5rpKW19yoU71iZN5eYgH-tjUSPmWpTgUtYpomYfACuxUcXSEeY8TDMCsljGWoZI0EwCO2elybvPee_eN4ufwjGh396VKbrOCPukmxLxNUr571IH8G/s1600/photo+3.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhwhzouMLruIpcNaIF4MIZjVK0PP2X5rpKW19yoU71iZN5eYgH-tjUSPmWpTgUtYpomYfACuxUcXSEeY8TDMCsljGWoZI0EwCO2elybvPee_eN4ufwjGh396VKbrOCPukmxLxNUr571IH8G/s1600/photo+3.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
For all the embellishments I just fussy cut images and shapes from the paper and then popped some on foam dots for that depth that we all love so much! How cute is this glitter-y elephant!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh5FUszdOqN8roO-uhwl96HYzV9K5_AVHcM61b88uCcltw8_GzWsW5VqzPImProgMpEFgeZjSeCjBxtIg0lMj9z1ZdqAYJinLaGPoT9H3JZzz-bW8rIfB7LoOXDSTkuNaW0o1ZBP3ypwdD5/s1600/photo+4.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh5FUszdOqN8roO-uhwl96HYzV9K5_AVHcM61b88uCcltw8_GzWsW5VqzPImProgMpEFgeZjSeCjBxtIg0lMj9z1ZdqAYJinLaGPoT9H3JZzz-bW8rIfB7LoOXDSTkuNaW0o1ZBP3ypwdD5/s1600/photo+4.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This was a cute border strip that I trimmed down, then fussy cut the remaining cute circles and (again) popped up on foam dots and sprinkled them confetti style around the area. Hopefully you can see from this picture the nice glitter/shimmer element on some of these papers.</div>

Can't take credit for this fun title again, but it was too cute not to use! I used Thickers for the title work.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Here is the stack I used. I think this might be an older stack as they now have an updated version, but you should still be able to find it if it really strikes your fancy. :)</div>

It's been a long time since I have participated in a challenge, so I decided to jump back in and join a sketch challenge! The sketch is from <a href="http://mycreativesketches.blogspot.com/" target="_blank">My Creative Sketches</a>, and it was fun to play around with it. I did a layout with a photo from my new baby's one month photo shoot. Hard to believe he's already almost 2 months!! I used paper from the DCWV Baby Boy stack. Here is my layout:<br />

I did flip the elements of the sketch around a little bit, but I tried to stay relatively true to it while adding my own spin.</div>

I cut the title on my new Cricut Explore from a font that I had on my computer. That was so cool to be able to do that, and to adjust the font to fit my needs. If you are interested in learning more about the Explore check back to my blog on Wednesday as I created an impromptu post about it.</div>

So that about sums it up- I hope you enjoyed my layout! Here is the stack I used if you are interested in getting some of this paper for your own collection:</div>
