2nd Halloween Project for Scrapbook USA Expo Design Team

Hello! For those that missed my post yesterday, I was recently honored to be chosen to be part of the first-ever design team for Scrapbook USA Expo.  If you are not familiar with the Scrapbook USA Expo, it is a HUGE bi-annual expo that features the top names in scrapbooking and paper crafting. I look forward to it every 6 months. It's kindof like a Papercrafter's holiday around here! Be sure to check out their blog to learn more about it. For my secondproject I am again using the adorable DCWV Halloween and Fall Stack . I was so excited to be able to create a second project with this fun line. Here is my project:
I used a kraft base, and inked through a chevron shaped template to create some background interest. I continued the chevron pattern with my journaling.  Here are some detailed photos:

Some more fun, coordinating epoxy stickers that I layered over some festive washi tape.
Some additional stickers layered over washi tape.
I added some letter stickers for the title and done! Working with all these coordinating products made this a very quick and easy project. Only about 30 minutes from start to finish!

Thank you for stopping by to look at my project today- be sure to stop by the Scrapbook USA Expo blog to meet the rest of the talented design team and to see how you can participate in this awesome bi-yearly expo!

I am entering my layout in the following challenges:

Top Tip Tuesday - Halloween
For Fun Challenges - Color Challenge (Brown, Orange and Cream)

Scrapbook USA Expo Design Team!

Hi my friends!! For those of you that are local to Utah you are probably very familiar with the Scrapbook USA Expo. It comes to a local expo center twice a year, and I look forward to it every 6 months. It's kindof like a Papercrafter's holiday around here! Be sure to check out their blog to learn more about it. Recently, I was thrilled to be chosen to be a part of their first-ever design team!! I am beyond excited about this awesome opportunity! For my first project I got some adorable DCWV product to create with. All the paper comes from their Halloween and Fall Stack with some matching embellishments. This stack has so much goodness in it it was hard to narrow down the sheets I ended up using. Here is my first project:
This is my adorable niece Evie trick or treating in her sweet ladybug costume last year. I love the witch hat print! Here are some close ups of the layout:

I used the cute coordinating epoxy stickers to form my title- Trick or Treat Cutie Pie. I am NOT a fan of spiders, but I thought this guy was a little cute.

I layered some additional epoxy stickers over a strip of paper and some matching washi tape in the upper corner.

I added a date die cut from the Chic and Scary cartridge layered over strips of patterned paper that had been put through border punches.

I hope you have enjoyed my project today- be sure to come back tomorrow for my second Halloween project for the Scrapbook USA Expo blog. And make sure to check out the blog to meet the rest of the talented design team and to see how you can participate in this awesome bi-yearly expo!

I am entering my layout in the following challenges:

And I'm Back....

Hello my friends! I am back with a project as promised, and boy does it feel good to be creating again! It's easy to lose sight of how much something means to you, fulfills you or just plain makes you happy until you lose it for a while. So it feels AMAZING to be creating again. I definitely was a little worried that I might have lost my mojo, and I struggled a little with this project, but overall I was happy about it. Didn't hurt that I was doing a layout about Halloween- my favorite holiday.

My project today doubles as an entry to be on the design team for Sketches in Thyme. I have been following this blog for a while. They have some really fun sketches and I love creating from sketches. Here is the sketch I had to work with:
And here is my take on it:

My project is doubling as an entry into the Carta Bella Project contest, so all the supplies are from the Carta Bella All Hallows Eve collection. Here are a few close-ups of my project:
Most of the embellishments are either stickers, or fussy cut from patterned paper from the collection.
Alot of fun images in this collection- I love it!!
I added a little border- don't think I can make a page without something on the edge, lol
Lastly I added some gems for some added interest on this border piece.

I hope you enjoy my project as much as I enjoyed creating it- and wish me luck with the DT call and contest! Thank you so much for taking the time to stop by, and I look forward to getting to know all of you again!!

25 Days of Christmas Crafting Fun Day 19: Halloween or October Themed

Welcome to Day 19 of the 25 Days of Christmas Crafting Fun!! Today's theme is October, or non-scary Halloween. Halloween just happens to be my favorite holiday, so I enjoy doing a Halloween project even in the middle of December! My project today is a 12 x 12 layout and includes a darling digi stamp from Paper Crafting World. This is literally my first time working with digis AND copics, so be gentle, lol! I know it could be SO much better, but everyone has to have a first time, right? ;) Here is my project:
All the paper is from We R Memory Keepers including the chipboard and borders. I cut the scallops from Elegant Edges, and as mentioned previously the digi was colored with copics. I then added some stickles and a sticker! I also added some crinkle ribbon from Prairie Bird Boutique. Here is a close-up of the sweet Halloween kitty (again remember- FIRST time, lol!)
Remember, there are weekly prizes as well as FREE cutting files, digital stamps and vintage clip art over at Cooking with Cricut. Make sure you head over to grab them! Just a reminder, in order to be eligible for the weekly prizes you need to be a follower of the blog. Here are some of the sponsors of the AMAZING things you can win this week: Quick Quotes, Pazzles, Paper Crafting World, The Twinery, Cutters Creek, or Close to My Heart.

Cooking with Cricut Challenge: Purple, Green and Sketches

I am so excited to present my FIRST Cooking with Cricut Design Team project!! The challenge this week is to incorporate the colors purple and green with the provided sketch. Halloween is my FAVORITE holiday, so if you give me purple and green in the middle of October, I'm going to have to do a Halloween page! For this page I used a solid frame background from Storybook for the scalloped background, and Paper Dolls Dress up for all the cute little critters. I cut the ghost, moon and stars out of glitter paper to give them a little more sparkle (and less mess!), then popped them all up on glue dots for a little more dimension. All of the paper and the chipboard pumpkin border are from American Crafts. The 'Trick or Treat' title is a stamp from Inkadinkado. Here is the fabulous sketch I used:

And my finished project! (Along with some close-ups of the critters) :)
These are my 3 nephews: Brayden (a nerd), Braxton (Spiderman) and Nevin (the baby from "Addams Family), How cute are they!

I used a white pen from American Crafts to draw on the detail on the cats.

I cut these pieces out of glitter paper to add a little sparkle!

So there's my project, I hope you enjoyed it, and I hope you will join in the fun this week! Can't wait to see all the fun things you create with this weeks' challenge!
