A Lovely Blog Hop!!

Hello and welcome to A Lovely Blog Hop! If you have just stumbled upon this blog hop you can follow along by starting at Everyday is an Occasion. If you have been following along you should have come from Missy over at Quick Chick Designs.
The idea behind this blog hop is to make a Valentine's day project, card, etc.. . I decided to make (drumroll please......) a LAYOUT!! You all must be falling over in shock!! I know, so outrageous for me! haha!

For the LIFE of me I can not get my layout photos to come out straight. They are square! It should not be this hard!! Ugh! Anyway, I did the best I could ;)
This project was really a comedy of errors. Should have been very quick and simple, but pretty much everything that could go wrong DID go wrong, but somehow I managed to get it done!
This is a Valentine's Day blog hop and I do not have a Valentine this year, but I DO have a new love: my brand new DSLR camera. I think this is going to be a forever thing... I decided to do a page about my new love rather than a silly boy. Ha!

I am once again using MME's Lucky in Love collection. I have gotten a lot of mileage out of this kit!! I love that it is sweet and romantic, but doesn't scream Valentine's Day. So if you are doing a layout about, say, your love for your camera instead of a husband or boyfriend it still works!!

I did something fun with the title. I love the look of those block letters (not sure the exact font title or style name, but I've been seeing it alot lately- particularly with Elizabeth Kartchner's work). This was the best I could do using the Boys will be Boys cart. I designed the lettering on my gypsy (this is where my night of errors began) and then cut it out on my Cricut on throwaway paper. I then laid my template over my page and used spray ink to 'color in' the title.

Thanks so much for hopping with us today! I hope you have been inspired by all the amazing talent exhibited here today. Big thanks to Jill for organizing this! Mwah!

Your next stop is Lisa from A Mermaid's Crafts.

Whether you have an awesome Valentine to shower with affection, or you're paying tribute to inanimate objects like me I hope you have an AMAZING Valentine's day! Until next time!!

Oh Boy!

Hello my friends! Today I am back posting another project for ScrapbookPal.com. I have a layout to share with you today.

Photos of my cute nephew Sevyn swinging at the park. He makes the funniest faces! Patterned paper is more MME goodness. I used a stencil mask for the red stars in the corner. Visit the ScrapbookPal blog for a full tutorial. I used a new sketch from the April Page Maps release for my inspiration.
I used Create a Critter for the star shape for the stencil mask I used to create these stars. I sprayed smooch spray in red, It looks a little faded like the wood print which I like.
I used an awesome Spellbinders die set to make this fun banner. I adhered the bakers twine in a swirly pattern with my Zig glue pen.
Here is my much used Smash date stamp. It's such a fun way to add a date or small note to your page without a bunch of journaling. I am not the biggest fan of journaling unless there is a specific story to tell, but this stamp is a great way to at least record the time when the photos were taken. The little box to the left can be a blank space like I used to write in my own small notes, or there are several phrases included. Fun fun!
I used Boys will be Boys for the title. I really went back and forth on a title for this page, but when I found this phrase on the cart I thought it would be fun as it has a bit of a double meaning.
Thanks so much for stopping by today! Make sure you stop by the Scrapbook Pal blog for a full tutorial, and if you would like to purchase any of these supplies for your own projects there is a full supply list below.

Sevyn's New Hat

I don't do too many boy pages that aren't themed around a holiday or occasion, so it was kinda fun to do a boy page with boy papers! These are also part of the windfall I got from American Crafts last month, and I love them, they are so versatile for so many different boy-centered projects. I'm pretty sure it's last year's line, but it's called 'Chap' if you can find it anywhere.

These photos were actually taken on Christmas when Sevs was wearing the new hat he got, but I was kinda tired of Christmas pages, and figured I could make it work for a simple boy-page. I cut the stars from George, and the rest from Boys will be Boys. This cart was a recent acquisition thanks to my super generous MIL- thanks Jeannine!! I simply love this font! The brads are from Basic Grey and the red ribbon from Teresa Collins. I am going to enter this in the 'Boys; challenge over at My Craft Spot- how fitting! LOL ;) Thanks for stopping by today!
