Cooking with Cricut Challenge #66: Favorite project of 2011

Hello everyone, and welcome to the last Cooking with Cricut challenge for 2011! This week we are showcasing our favorite project of 2011. All you need to do to participate is create a "NEW" post talking about your favorite project (why it is your favorite, etc). You can create a link to the old post if the details are too lengthy.

I had a few projects in the running for my favorite and it was hard to decide between a couple of them. I ultimately decided on this one of my big guy, Cash.

I used George and Basic Shapes for the circle 'template' and the 'Big' in the title, and used Simply Sweet for the 'bone' in the title. The rest of the title letters are stickers from Bo Bunny's Zoology collection, as is all the paper!

I hope you enjoyed my favorite project, and can't wait to see all of yours!

I will also be entering this layout in the Whimsical Designs challenge for this week: Favorite Project or Happy New Year!

I just wanted to take an opportunity to thank each and every one of you! I just started this blog a few short months ago (in August) and in that time I have gained 3 design teams, 78 followers and countless new friends, support and inspiration. It has been a GREAT year crafting wise and I am so grateful for your kind and encouraging comments, advice and ideas! I hope you all have a wonderful holiday with your friends and families, and I will see you all back here in 2012 with lots more fun stuff to come!

25 Days of Christmas Crafting Fun Day 23: Nutcrackers, stockings and/orgifts

Welcome to Day 23 of the 25 Days of Christmas Crafting Fun!! Today's theme is Nutcrackers, gifts and/or stockings. I chose the gift theme, and decided to make a card with this adorable digi stamp from Paper Crafting World. This is my second time working with copics, and I think I fared slightly better than the first time! Here is my project:

The paper is from Bella Blvd. Christmas Wishes collection. I got the chance to us my fun snow pen again to highlight the trim on Miss Bunny's coat. Here is a better look:

You can see the 'snow' texture a little better. And as mentioned above, she was colored with copics (still learning!)

Remember, there are weekly prizes as well as FREE cutting files, digital stamps and vintage clip art over at Cooking with Cricut. Make sure you head over to grab them! Just a reminder, in order to be eligible for the weekly prizes you need to be a follower of the blog. Here are some of the sponsors of the AMAZING things you can win this week: Quick Quotes, Pazzles, Paper Crafting World, The Twinery, Cutters Creek, and Close to My Heart.

Cooking with Cricut challenge # 65: Poinsettas and Holiday Florals

Welcome to another challenge week at Cooking with Cricut! This week the challenge is to include poinsettas or holiday florals in your project. I decided to continue with the vintage Christmas theme that I have been loving so much this year with this project using Bo Bunny's Father Christmas line. Here is my project (forgive the picture quality, for some reason I just couldn't get a good photo of this layout!):
The paper used for the gold and red poinsettas is from KaiserCraft. I just loved that gold foil paper, and thought it would make a pretty holiday flower. I used the same technique on the flowers as I did in the Vintage Christmas Card- you can see more info about that technique HERE. Here is a close up of the flowers:

The title is a sticker from Bo Bunny, and I used Elegant Edges for the background shape. Then I added some beautiful Vintage Christmas crinkle ribbon from Prairie Bird Boutique. Hope you enjoy the project and thanks for stopping by! Can't wait to see all the beautiful holiday florals on your projects!

I am also entering this project in the following challenges:

My Craft Spot- Christmas tag
Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog- incorporate a tag in your project

25 Days of Christmas Crafting Fun Day 19: Halloween or October Themed

Welcome to Day 19 of the 25 Days of Christmas Crafting Fun!! Today's theme is October, or non-scary Halloween. Halloween just happens to be my favorite holiday, so I enjoy doing a Halloween project even in the middle of December! My project today is a 12 x 12 layout and includes a darling digi stamp from Paper Crafting World. This is literally my first time working with digis AND copics, so be gentle, lol! I know it could be SO much better, but everyone has to have a first time, right? ;) Here is my project:
All the paper is from We R Memory Keepers including the chipboard and borders. I cut the scallops from Elegant Edges, and as mentioned previously the digi was colored with copics. I then added some stickles and a sticker! I also added some crinkle ribbon from Prairie Bird Boutique. Here is a close-up of the sweet Halloween kitty (again remember- FIRST time, lol!)
Remember, there are weekly prizes as well as FREE cutting files, digital stamps and vintage clip art over at Cooking with Cricut. Make sure you head over to grab them! Just a reminder, in order to be eligible for the weekly prizes you need to be a follower of the blog. Here are some of the sponsors of the AMAZING things you can win this week: Quick Quotes, Pazzles, Paper Crafting World, The Twinery, Cutters Creek, or Close to My Heart.
Thanks for joining us, and I hope you found some inspiration today!

Penguin Christmas Tag

This was one of those projects where it should have been quick and easy, but everything I tried to do on it seemed to just not work out. I think I managed to salvage it for the most part, lol, and after spending so much time figured I had better post it.

(Just pretend you don't notice any mistakes, lol) The patterned paper is from SEI. I cut the tag from Plantin Schoolbook (I think- I had it leftover from a previous project) and the penguin and snowflakes are from Christmas Cheer. One thing I did try on this one that I really liked was my new 'snow maker' paint pen.  SO much fun! But you have to be careful, the paint can come out pretty fast at times, and then you have an overabundance of snow. ;) Here is a close-up of my penguin's snowy hat:

I added it to my sentiment, from Robin's Creative Cottage Snowman's Prayer collection. All you have to do is add some heat and it puffs right up and gives that really fun 'snow-y' texture. Definitely going to be using this some more!

Hope you enjoyed my project, I am also entering it in the following challenges:

Bitten by the Bug2- Christmas Tag
Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog- add ribbon
The Paper Variety- Anything goes
Whimsical Designs- Tag
Frosted Designs- Ribbon

Thanks for coming by, hope you're all having a magical holiday season :)

Robin's Creative Cottage Challenge #4: Holiday Treat Packaging

Hi and welcome to another fun challenge from Robin's Creative Cottage! This week we are creating Holiday Treat Packaging. There are SO many fun options for gift and treat packaging that I have been seeing this season, it was hard to choose.  I settled on this cute gift box because it is so versatile- you can fill it with any kinds of treats- cookies, candies, small gifts or even cards. And the options for decorating are endless. Here is my project:
I found the tutorial for this gift box at Split Coast Stampers. You can find it HERE. The paper and chipboard accents are from KaiserCraft. The sentiment background shape is cut from Elegant Edges and the stamp is from Robin's Gingerbread Holiday stamp set. These stamps are SO perfect for holiday gift and treat giving! (get your own set HERE!). I added some diamond stickels for a little more sparkle. And lastly, I added some tinsel string from Prairie Bird Boutique. I just love this for holiday projects. Here is another view of the project:

I hope you have enjoyed my project and I look forward to seeing all of your fun holiday treat packaging!

I am also entering this project in the following challenges:
Frosted Designs- Use glitter on your project
Whimsical Designs- Christmas/winter themed project with sparkle

Cooking with Cricut Challenge # 63: Sounds of the Season

Hello and welcome to another challenge week over at Cooking with Cricut! Our theme this week is to incorporate music into our project- showcase your favorite Christmas carol, or music somehow into your project.  My project is titled- We Wish you a Merry Christmas- I used one of our Christmas Card photos from last year. Here is my project:
All of the paper/stickers/borders are from KaiserCraft- I actually won this line and have been so excited to finally have a chance to use it.  The paper has a beautiful vintage quality- and I love anything vintage. Speaking of vintage, have you been checking out the 25 Days of Christmas Crafting Fun? Everyday Melin has some BEAUTIFUL vintage clip art that she is giving away for FREE! You must check it out! Anyway, back to my project, lol. I used Christmas Cheer and cut some images with the shadow feature at 1 1/4" from different patterned papers to create the border. Here is a close up of some of those images:

(You can also see most of my boxer, Cash, lol. We have since added another, June, to our family as seen in previous posts). The Merry Christmas portion of the title was cut from Joys of the Season.  I hope you enjoyed my project today. I wish I was able to do more right now, but this broken leg has really put a damper on that. I am crossing my fingers for two long more weeks when I will (hopefully) be told I can finally walk again. Cross your fingers for me too!! Can't wait to see what beautiful music-inspired projects you all cook up, and thanks for stopping by!!

I am also entering this project in the following challenges:
The Paper Variety- project inspired by Christmas Song or Lyrics
Amanda's Crafts and More- A Christmas or Holiday Layout
