Hi all! I'm back today with another favorite project to share with you! This is another one of those special photos that I hoped to do justice to, and I am so so happy with the way this layout turned out. My boyfriend is the most amazing father. He is patient, attentive, supportive and loving (to me!) and he just loves the pants off of our little one. I couldn't ask for a better father for our son. And he's pretty darn handsome to boot!! I wanted to take some nice daddy/baby photos of the two of them, but Henry was being a bit of a cranky pants. I did manage to get a couple nice shots, though, and this one is my favorite. I used a few different DCWV stacks for this layout: Baby Boy and Decor Noir.

I wanted to keep the bulk of the layout monochrome (grey) and then add just a pop of color (blue).  I added blue accents in the circle border strips that were cut on my Cricut from the Elegant Edges cartridge. How cute are they!! I also added some blue washi from my stash.

I ended up finding a lot of the blue pieces from pages in the stack that had a metallic finish and I liked that a lot. 

I thought this tiny little baby banner was just too cute for words! Had to use it, so I popped it up to add some dimension and really make it pop out. All of the phrases, banners and images were fussy cut from pages in the stack.

This title says it all, and it is enough said. Having the two of them in my life now has made my life complete.

I forgot to mention that the texture of the papers in this stack is different than the usual cardstock you are used to seeing- it has a bit of a slick finish.

The entire palette of this stack is black/white/grey with accents of gold. It is very sophisticated and elegant. Would be great for wedding/prom/special events pages and projects.

2 Christmas Layouts with Echo Park for Scrapbook USA Expo

Hi friends! It's that time of year again! Time to start making Christmas crafts and projects! I love how I am always so much more motivated to do projects during this time of year- gives me a chance to catch up! So I was privileged to receive some wonderful product from Echo Park. I was sent the Tis the Season paper pack. This pack has some very nice traditional elements as well as some fun, modern trends (like chalkboard!). I have included 2 full layouts that I created with the pack, but easily could finish a couple more as well as some cards! There is a LOT to work with including 2 sticker sheets and some journaling tag/card pages. There is one page that has numbers 1-25 in different fonts which would make an adorable advent calendar project. Here is my first layout:

With this layout you can see a little bit of that fun chalkboard element that is so trendy right now. The rest of the colors and patterns really complement each other very nicely.

I created a little cluster with fun stickers in the upper right of the page, and added some border stickers in the corner.

I thought this chalkboard style card was so cute I decided to use it as my title. I love when products can do double duty- really makes my layouts come together quickly.

I cut the music style piece on my Cricut. I love that it was done in the chalkboard style as well.

I created the title using one of the cute journaling cards, and the letter stickers from the pack.

The little banner was also fussy cut from one of the pages and popped up on foam dots for dimension.

ScrapbookPal Post: Father's Day Card

Hello crafty friends! I have a Father's Day card to share with you today for my ScrapbookPal.com post! So first I have to explain that my dad is into anything Harley or motorcycle related. I have given him motorcycle cards in the past, so this time I just wanted a little of that 'flavor'. Here is my card:

The dotted overlay is a cool image that I just stumbled upon when browsing through my Graphically Speaking cartridge book. I thought it was really cool and had a sort of machine-esque vibe. Because of all the open holes, I wasn't quite sure what kind of adhesive to use. I ultimately decided to go with a glue stick and it worked out great! Of course I had to throw some orange in there for Harley!

I like to use the diamond plate embossing folder on my Dad's card. It's DEFINITELY motorcycle related! I inked it up with some distress ink so the embossing would stand out a bit more.

I added a little sentiment stamp from Pink by Design that I thought my dad would dig. This stamp is actually from the Inner Princess set. Just goes to show you can always find unique ways to use the sentiments in your stamp sets.

This is the interior of the card. I cut out the shape from Elegant Edges, then printed out the 'Happy Father's Day' sentiment on my computer. I saw this tip online and it was quite easy! I typed up the sentiment and sized it to the way I wanted it, then I printed it out on a regular piece of paper. I then adhered my shape over the printing (I positioned it based on where I wanted it to print) with repositionable adhesive and ran it through the printer again. This was the end result- I was quite happy with it! I just hope my dad is too ;)

Cooking with Cricut Blogaversary Celebration Week Day 4

Hello and welcome back to Day 4 of Cooking with Cricut's weeklong blogaversary celebration!! Today we have a fun theme- Tiaras! For all those girlie-girl projects tiaras are such a fun embellishment. I had the perfect idea for a layout with my beautiful niece Emma who is about as girly-girl as you can get, lol!! Here is her layout:

I'm not usually a big bling-y girl, but it was appropriate for this layout so I brought out the bling! Here are some close-ups:

This image is cut from the Hannah Montana cart, and of course I had to bling it up a bit, lol! I think this is just a darling cut! Also added some fun polka dotted washi tape!

The font from Ribbons and Rosettes has holes cut in the letters that are just asking for a little bling to be added! Also, you can't see it really well here, but the 3" strip across the layout has a bunch of little tiaras! Thought it was too perfect not to use! All the paper is from American Crafts Ever After line.

4 Crafty Chick #86: Boys Dig It!

Hi crafty friends!! Welcome to another fun challenge over at 4 Crafty Chicks! This week our theme is 'Boys Dig it'! I have really enjoyed making boy pages lately. Partly thanks to some awesome new paper lines that are 'boy-friendly'. I have already made a page with this Echo Park kit of my other nephew, Sevyn. Now his brother is getting the scrappy treatment. ;)

 

I used a sketch from the April Page Maps release. I thought it was so unique and fun I didn't actually stray too far from the original sketch and I love it. I cut the photo mat from Elegant Edges, it is a postage stamp shape, and I thought it went well with the other postage stamp stickers on the layout.

Still loving banners. Maybe one of these days I'll get sick of them, lol! These banners were a pattern on one of the papers in the Echo Park kit. I fussy cut them and placed brads in between. I inked the edges of all the cuts with brown ink.

I cut the flags from a Spellbinders die. The flag pins were handmade. One was actually a sticker in the kit. I just wrapped them around little wooden toothpicks.

I LOVE these scrabble tile looking letter stickers. And the ones that look like label-maker tape, so fun!

The title is cut from the new Type Candy cartridge. I am really liking this one alot!!

Easter Blessings Card

Hi everybody! I have some exciting news! I have been chosen to be a part of the new design team for ScrapbookPal.com! If you are not familiar with ScrapbookPal you should definitely check it out. Not only is it an online scrapbook supply superstore but nothing is full price. It's a great way to stock up on all those supplies without breaking the bank. Most all of the supplies I used for this project I got from ScrapbookPal at a fraction of the price I have paid at other online stores. Now to my project! As Easter is tomorrow, I wanted to share an Easter card with you!

This is a 6"x6" card. The mat with the border edge is cut from Elegant Edges with the book feature. This is a great feature to add fun border to cards, or to create mini-books. The paper was pretty busy so I kept it simple. I used Spellbinder's dies to cut out the stamp and the scallop circle behind it.

I added some pretty stickles to give it a little sparkle and definition, and some liquid pearls to the center of some of the flowers. The image from Meljens is colored with copics.

I then added a pretty shimmery ribbon from American Crafts. Scor Tape is an excellent way to adhere ribbon- I love this stuff! I glued the bow down with a craft dot. I used a cute stamp sentiment from Pink by Design and heat embossed it, then cut a tag out with another Spellbinders die.
